I said hello to Stephen Daldry (director of Billy Elliott) last week before I realised that he wasn't someone that I knew and recognised and couldn't quite remember his name, but that he was really a Oscar winning film director.

He was quite polite to me really.

That must happen to famous people all the time.

Spotted Anna Friel and David Thewlis and their baby, yesterday at Gatwick Airport. And he was very nice to my kids when they went up to ask him about being in Harry Potter. Mr Ellie of course just gazed with lust at Anna Friel with memories of her as Beth Jordache firmly in his head.

While queuing up to get into the Killers gig on Friday night, the lad who plays Josh in Hollyoaks was spotted by myself and one girl in front of us.
