Presenter will be dateless at the Brits

He may have a bit of a reputation as a ladies' man but presenter Russell Brand claims it's all a front.

And the 31-year-old star, who'll be hosting the Brits tonight, claims he's never had a good Valentine's Day.

'I expect that, true to form, this will be another sad heart-breaking affair,' he tells the Daily Mirror. 'I've never even had a card - just a few letters.

'Come to think of it I haven't even had a long-term girlfriend.'

Our hearts are bleeding, Russell. But somehow we feel more sorry for all the girls you're said to have bedded and then left high and dry.

VALENTINE PASSIONS SOAR FOR TOP MODEL AND RUSSELL

Celebrities on both sides of the Atlantic were gearing up for a passionate Valentine's Day on Tuesday. Brazilian bombshell Alessandra Ambrosio led the way in New York where she shared lingerie shopping tips at the Victoria's Secret store.

The stunning model, who sent pulses racing in a sizzling red dress, thrilled onlookers as she blew kisses in the shop on Valentine's eve.

Meanwhile big-haired comedian Russell Brand was on the receiving end of some seductive advances in the UK. The 31-year-old who is presenting Wednesday night's Brit awards, was joined by two burlesque dancers bearing heart-shaped balloons at a pre-ceremony photocall.

Russell isn't holding out for a romantic time, however. "I've never had a good Valentine's Day and I expect that, true to form, this will be another sad, heartbreaking affair," he told the Daily Mirror. Currently single, he is keen to have a steady girlfriend as his mum wants him to settle down, "and is on my case for grandchildren," he joked. Top of his date wish-list is fellow comedian and Royle Family star Caroline Aherne, followed by Sienna Miller - who he is yet to meet, but says he'll be "keeping an eye out or two" for her at the Brit Awards.

Name Shagger gong after me

BRITS host Russell Brand has set himself the target of forcing my Bizarre Shagger Of The Year gong to be renamed in his honour.

The TV and radio star has earned a reputation as a celebrity swordsman by bedding a host of stunning girls during his rise to fame.

He had a one-night stand with supermodel Kate Moss and is dating telly presenter Kirsty Gallacher’s younger sister.

But Russell, facing his biggest gig yet at tonight’s Brits at London’s Earls Court, vowed to carry on his bed-hopping antics in a bid to make my honour his own.

He confessed: “I plan to win it for consecutive years so there will be a point when the award is named after me and I get to keep it.

“Rename it the Russell Brand Shagger Of The Year Award.

THE new woman in Russell Brand's life shouldn't get too excited if she finds boxes of women's jewellery by the bed.

The funnyman, who spent the night with a mystery brunette after hosting last week's Brits, snapped up a girly leather cuff and necklace at LA's Azendi store and pleaded with staff to make him his own "Mr T-style neck chain but more demure, more feminine".
