FLOUNCING onto the stage, Russell Brand was greeted by an enthusiastic sell-out crowd with screams and wolf whistles.
From the start he seemed to feed off the audience, the improvisation and interaction throughout was a joy to behold. After a jaunt up the aisles to become more aquainted, he returned to the stage and began to deride articles from a local newspaper - the Tameside Advertiser being tonight's unfortunate victim!
Using a borrowed mobile phone, Russ proceeded to confuse a poor lady at Crimestoppers with "information" about a headline story, and then, on finding a Hotline number on which to report bogus callers - he rang that too!
