END FEUD, DAV - Star's mum longs to see grandkids
DAVINA McCall's estranged mother has pleaded with the Big Brother star to end their seven-year feud.
BB host Davina, 39, has refused to see her mum Florence since she gave an interview about Davina's drug addiction. Now Florence wants her daughter to call off the feud so she can be a proper grandmother to Davina's three children - who she has never seen.
French-born Florence, 62, who split with Davina's dad Andrew when her daughter was three, said: "I just want her love and respect and I want the love of my grandchildren.
"I want them to know that they have a grandmother and that she thinks about them.
"The only way I can communicate with her is by sending a fax to her husband." Davina - who stars in TV ads for hair-colourant having girlie phone chats with an actress playing her mum - was enraged when Florence told the Sunday Mirror in 2000 how the pair had battled their addictions together - Davina's to drugs and hers to drink. Four-times wed Florence said at the time: "I said to
Davina, 'Maybe I should have put you down for AA or NA (Narcotics Anonymous) when you were at school and other people were putting their children down for Oxford'." Davina, a former heroin and cocaine addict who has been clean of drugs since 1992 but was at the time still going to NA meetings, was furious.
Florence said: "She said I was 'disgusting'. We are still not speaking."
In recent months Florence, who now lives in South Africa, has attempted a reconciliation by writing to Davina.
The BB host replied and enclosed pictures of her two oldest children Holly, five and Tilly, three, with husband Matthew Robertson.
Florence has yet to see a picture of Davina's nine-month-old son Chester. "I've put the children's pictures on the shelf where I can look at them. It is so sad," she added.
