NEW X Factor host Dermot O’Leary has dubbed fellow TV presenter Vernon Kay a LIAR — for saying he would have turned down the gig.
The telly favourite hit out at Vernon, 33, as he prepares to front the new series of the hit talent show.
The Sun told how Dermot, 34, scooped the role after Kate Thornton was axed from the ITV1 show in March.
But he took a swipe at Vernon — who replaced him when he quit T4 — saying: “It’s the biggest show in the country.
“Unless you’re Jonathan Ross or Ant and Dec . . . if you say you’d turn it down, you’re full of s***.”
Referring to an interview where Vernon, said he would not take the X Factor job if it was offered to him, Dermot added: “Everyone else who says they’d turn it down, they’re lying.”
Putting the boot in, he told Heat magazine: “Even Davina McCall wouldn’t turn that job down — she told me herself.”
X Factor returns with Simon Cowell, Sharon Osbourne, Dannii Minogue and Louis Walsh later this month.
