Hi again. I was a 'noob' about three years ago and I was made welcome from the very start. It took a while to get my head around who people were and what the in jokes were but it was worth the effort. Don't run away....there are some really good discussions on here, the captions and pics threads are really funny, and even though it might take a bit of time to get used to people's senses of humour, we're not that bad really xx

I sort of went off the rails there, didn't I? I guess I have no excuse for that. I've not had much sleep for the last week, I have a sick 2 year old to worry about, she inherited my weak chest and everything has put me on edge.

I figure that it was me that was the bad advert just then.

If this thread stays then it's only to show what an idiot I am and no more.

Still, I have no excuse for going off like that.

Welcome Bluto... another mod here ... meeting and greeting is part of the job, no conspiracy more that during BB most members are more taken up with the BB threads, had you joined at a non BB time more people would be about to chat... but throw yourself in to the forums and have fun

Every one of us was a noob once upon a time and it is a fun place to discuss BB .. some of the members are a bit nuts (it's definately a trait amongst the mods) but it's generally light hearted and there's rarely any trouble here

thanks for the kind words. I wasn't expecting them after how I went off on one. I'm sort of humbled about it at the mo.


I wont be posting much, for obvious reasons on which I sort of lightly mentioned on before (kids come before internet, full stop).

But I hope to tell you all that the sprog is sounding better and I finally got my standard 8 hours in.

Oh yeah, found out a nice little tip on how to help the under 4's with poor lungs. When either me, or my other half, if taking a shower then the other sits there with the kid on their knee on the loo (obviously with the seat down and not relieving themselves )

But anyhoo, maybe see you all again in a few days. Again, my apologies.

Steam is great for lungs... I suffer with asthma and find it helps hope the little 'un is ok ... nothing worse than a poorly kid to put you in a cranky mood!

Tell me about it. I thought that getting up through the year was over in the first night. Then we had to move the cot into the bedroom.

It's when she starts playing Grand Theft Auto and calling herself a Capo is when I would really worry, lol

Why is it that kids need consoles and expensive stuff like that? I was happy the Bionic Man figure (I refuse to say doll, I really do...I was a boy, not a girl ) with the arm that rolled up to show the bionic bit that I could take out....oh, and the Evil Kneval stunt bike. I'm still narked I never got a Space Hopper. Those new ones aren't a patch on the originals.

Hi Bluto and a very warm welcome indeed. I was reading my "baby book" the other night and I spotted I had been given a spacehopper for my birthday one year...

A friend of mine has just had a baby and was telling me that she's very good and sleeps from 10pm till 7.30pm. I told my Mum and she said, "YOU slept from 6pm right through till 8am - we thought you were dead loads of times..."

Anyhoo, slight digression...
