Hi! I'm Chocolate Truffle!

I'm a newlywed!

Can I have my own thread here too?

Maybe it would be nice if there was one thread that all of us who have been members for a while put a wee bit about ourselves or whatever. Guess that would let them know a wee bit about who they are talking to and help them feel part of the group more quickly like this part is intended to. Dunno what any of the rest of you think.

Well, that's a good idea.

But so many of our posts reveal a little about us each time.

I think what really matters is that this should be an opinion-driven site. Although at times, it can be personality-driven. For which many of us are to blame. But be fair, sometimes it's hard to raise an opinion about Big Brother that we haven't raised a thousand series before. So the egotistical hoop-jumping kicks-in.

In truth, I think this opinion vs. personality conflict that runs through BBFans is because the numbers here are so low, compared to a site such as Digital Spy, rather than any desperate attention-seeking on the part of individual members. You just sort of fall into it, because the forum is very comfortable and accommodating and the members very decent, tolerant people.

It's easier for individual personalities to emerge (or personas to be assumed) and you therefore get to know each other because there are fewer people to get to know. It's like the difference between a very large staff conference and a team meeting. The smaller gathering often produces more productive results becuase people know each other and feel more comfortable sharing their views among friends and in a smaller environment.

Now that Blags and his multiple personalities are on holiday, it's even easier. ;) (come back you silly old loon! You've still got my golden pantaloons!)

In addition to the low numbers, the format of this forum also helps. Being able to use avatars, post pictures, send private messages, use cool emoticons/smileys and to chat in a diverse array of other forums helps you to form an impression of your fellow forum members.

And not to underestimate the tolerance (or is it unconscious drunken stupor?) of the mods in allowing free debate, and turning a blind eye to the more than occasional off-topic drifting (usually smut) also helps.

For me, for all Digital Spy has 1,000s of posts per day, it can in no way compare for quality, fun and community to the mighty BBFans.

Happy now Christine? Can I stay now? Phew, don't think I want to now. It bloody smells in here and you'd think the mods would take a feather-duster to the cobwebbed corners every now and then... and what's this?

The body of BLAGS!!! Lock the forum doors! Thur's been a murdur!

That's all well and good alan, but you are just trying to get out of spilling the beans about yourself. Come on admit it, you're real name is Mark thatcher, isn't it?

Isn't that middle-class pr!ck still lost in the dessert?

If only his mother had gone with him. Thirty years ago.

No wait, he's snivelling in a court room somewhere ratting out his one-time mercenary accomplices so he doesn't go to jail for planning to subvert a foreign government.

Silly boy, if only he'd taken a leaf out of his mother's book and sent a high-tech army.

Would be interesting, although I agree with Alan (feck it, I've been typing that a bit too much lately - has my medication run out again? ${ ), in that we get to know each other from our posts.

I didn't like seeing posts that went along the lines of 'can't say what it's about on here, but you know what I mean, Jumpyjean! ;)' , as that seemed to exclude people from being part of some inner circle.

If people want to keep the details of their 'real life' private, nothing wrong with that, alternatively, if people want to reveal everything, great - as long as we make everyone feel equally welcome.

No, no, no, no, no GG. The terms and conditions are that everything has to be revealed or we don't let the newbies into the secret threads, you know the ones were **** and *********** show everyone how to ********* and ******** whilst ************. :D

I can't believe you are all carrying on as normal, flippantly chatting over the rotting corpse of Blagman.

At least let's move him to one of the deserted forums. He's really beginning to smell.

I know, but even worse than he did when he was alive.

where should we move him?

How about the Birds thread on games? No one ever goes there except BBoop and she is off on a roller coaster today. :D

I think we should make Boop take the body with her on the fun day out.

Kind of like the film "A Weekend At Bernies", only with laughter this time.

"A Weekend With Blags"?

I want to see pictures of Blag's decomposing, rigor mortis face with a "Kiss me quick hat" on and a stick of Candy Floss in his hand.

He's always did have a soft spot for Chantelle.

Which is why she left him for Preston. But he wasn't hard enough for her either.

Now Blags has become a six-foot stiffy, I'm sure she'll be running back to him.

Maybe Blags is missing in action because he has just won BB. It would explain his absence all summer and his reluctance to come back.

If you are reading this Blags, stop lurking, stop mooning after Amanda, bring your cider and get back on here. We will forgive you for being an ass on BB. Well I will, am not sure if Alan will. :D

p.s. I forgot my manners!

Congratulations to the newly-weds.

I shall be expecting an announcement about the patter of tiny feet in the near future. :D

Who is Blags?

Blags is a riddle wrapped inside an enigma wrapped inside a conundrum. But to know him, is to love him.

In seriousness, he's just another BBFans nutcase, albeit one of the finest.

Here's a link to his profile - http://www.bbfans.com/uk/profile.php?mode=viewprofile&u=1876

Have a look through some of his posts and you'll get an impression of the insanity, inanity and imbecility of the man.

(Spawn of) Blagman's posts

He hasn't posted around here for months though.

At least not under that username... but he's like the common cold bug... he has thousands of forms... each of them nasty! ;)
