BIRMINGHAM'S evicted Big Brother contestant Dawn Blake has been rushed to hospital after passing out during her hunger strike.

The 38-year-old fitness instructor, from Aston, fainted last night but refused to eat any food at St Guys and Thomas Hospital's A&E in London.

Dawn had met with staff at the Mental Health Foundation in London over her claims about Big Brother putting contestants' health at risk when she collapsed in the lift on her way out at around 4pm.

Foundation workers and Dawn's friend Anita Aheer, from West Bromwich, looked after the ex-housemate before taking her to the nearest hospital.

Dawn went on hunger strike on June 1 in a protest against the way BB producers Endemol had portrayed her and also in order to get camera footage from her time in the house.

"Dawn is weak from the hunger strike and I fear for her life," said close pal Anita. "She doesn't want to eat anything and Dawn is one of those people who always sees something through.

"She kept telling nurses she wouldn't break the hunger strike. All Dawn wants is justice and wants all the footage of when she was in the house so she can prove she was not a cheat or smelly."

Dawn was sensationally kicked off the show last week after Big Brother accused her of cheating by using a secret code - something which she denies.

She has also filed a complaint at Birmingham's Steelhouse Lane police station against the programme's makers Endemol.

Dawn's protest comes as many mental health charities have criticised Big Brother for picking vulnerable characters and pushing them to the edge.

Another contestant, Shabaz, left the house after threatening to kill himself.

That's a bit of a funny one. The rules state quite clearly that you are not allowed any contact with the outside world - could that be interpreted as 'you are not allowed to make contact with the outside world, but they are allowed to send pre-arranged coded messages to you...?

The other thing is, it wasn't Big Brother who said she was 'smelly', but the people who lived with her.

C'mon Dawn - what's really going on?

Endermol must be laughing their socks off at all this extra publicity she's bringing them.

Wasn't Dawn worried about the adverse effect for her career of affearing nude on TV?

Behaving like an insane child by going on an attention-seeking hunger strike over a petty disagreement with a stupid TV show will of course have no adverse effect on the opinion of future prospective employers as.

I'm disgusted at this hunger strike business. Can understand how Dawn could feel frustrated, but the way she chose to highlight her 'cause' is beyond childish.

I always though Dawn was a bit odd but now I know

I told yer Dawn was just boring.
She jumped ship because she couldn't face the possibilty of getting booed - she wasn't a strong enough person - she shouldn't have agreed to go on the programme.

I hope she's OK but like others from past years, she wasn't very strong.

BB Dawn's hunger strike continues

EVICTED Big Brother contestant Dawn Blake was spending her 13th day on hunger strike today after accusing producers of ignoring her requests for unedited footage.

The 38-year-old fitness instructor from Aston, who was rushed to hospital last week after collapsing through lack of food, has described herself as feeling "tired and alone".

But she's vowed to continue her protest until Endemol hands over unedited recordings and documents from the show which, she says, will clear her of cheating.

The production company behind Big Brother, Endemol, said Dawn was thrown out of the house after using a secret code to communicate with the outside world.

When asked by the Birmingham Mail whether she was concerned that her hunger strike might do her cause more harm than good, Dawn replied: "This is the only way I feel I can clear my name.

"What life do I have if I've been branded untrustworthy and a cheat? What they've said about me is a lie."

A spokeswoman for Endemol said: "We've made every effort to contact Dawn. As some of the material we are providing her with is confidential it's essential it's delivered directly to her.

"We unsuccessfully tried to arrange that with Dawn last week."
