Nikki in the Diary Room - I had this vision of a two year old lying on the floor in Tesco's kicking and screaming cos she can't get what she wants. What a baby!

Last year IberianAir lost my suitcase en route to Valencia and I didn't have any stuff for 24 hours. It was a bit crap and not the nicest of experiences (basic lesson: don't forget to put your contact lens solution in your hand luggage!) but easily survivable.

It is horrible being stuck in the same clothes and not having your familiar things around you when you're in a strange environment; plus "reality" (if you'll pardon the pun) of actually having to LIVE with these people is kicking in after the high of entering the house.

But Nikki's reaction? Flip, in some countries tap water's considered a luxury. I suggest three months in a refugee camp somewhere. Seriously.

Totally agreed TD. My 5 year old has more maturity than her, and I did without all my luggage for two days on a skiing holiday this year. (basic lesson: don't forget to put your disposable contact lenses in your handbag)

i'm off on Wednesday - this time the lenses are staying with me, lol!
