ITV To Attack Big Brother

ITV is to launch an attack on the new series of Channel 4's Big Brother in May with Celebrity X Factor.

ITV bosses are launching the special version of the reality talent show on Monday, May 29.

This means it will clash with the first seven days of Big Brother, the main week which pulls in the viewers.

Simon Cowell, Sharon Osbourne and Louis Walsh are returning for the special programme which will run for eight nights, with the live final on June 5.

As soon as X Factor comes off the air, a new series of Celebrity Love Island will be launched.

Blah !
Not important. If ITV think the majority of reality fans will sway to X-factor (despite its obvious appeal), they are as crazy as the BBC are for giving Davina a chat show.

There is no other reality tv that comes near BB, imo. And I think the rival stations that go up against it are deluded. :D

All I can say is that nothing, not even the might of BB, will stop me watching England win the World Cup this year and even watching the World Cup. Sorry BB7 contestants

I'll reserve judgement until I see what the contestants are like on all the shows!

For a good while last year I preferred Love Island. And the Celeb X Factor thing could be good craic too.

If C4 go ahead with their plans to stop the live link, I might just not bother watching BB7 at all. At least if it was there, you could watch the other shows as well, hehe!!

And if BB7 proved to be the most interesting one, you'd give the others up.

Simple as that.

BB is on it's last legs, I fear.
Mind you, a new set of contestants does give it a chance every year...

Depends on which celebs they drag into the xfactor show. I watched soapstarsuperstar everytime it was on because it was great telly. No matter what, I'd have watched that and Not BB.

If its interesting enough veiwers with vote with their remotes.

Yey. The first 'bb is coming to an end' comment I've read so far this year (not that I've been reading much).

Give it another month, and people will be aching to see what loony toons the producers have selected for us.

It's not what it once was, but tuning in on the first night is a must- you never know they might put someone in who is actually likeable :D

This is from an earlier post:

Looks like ITV got it WRONG on the start dates, BigBro will be near the end of it's second week before CelebX Factor even gets started :D

As a matter of interest, I wish Celeb X factor and BB7 both started the same night and at the same time, just to see which one the majority of the public are looking forward to watching the most

Oh..it's Celeb X factor? - I thought it was that 'Have it Off on an Island' thing.

I'll stick with BB for the time being, provided the HM's aren't totally nauseating.
