Tue, May 9, 2006 Megastar MegaStar says: 'BB goes raunchier - yawn.' The Daily Star pants, grunts and squeals all over it's front page on it's pet subject - SEX! That's right - S.E.X. Shout it from the rooftops! Your bonking-bonkers red-top focuses, sex-wise, on Big Brother 7, which it yawnsomely promises "is set to be the raunchiest series of the reality show so far". Don't they spin that old guff every year? And don't the Star always, ahem, swallow it? Before having a lie down with a nice, calming glass of bromide, the Star yelps frantically that BB "fans are expecting topless beauties, open-air sex and threesomes" when the dreadful water-cooler bobbins starts prematurely early next week. Of course they are, lovey. Of course, they are. In fact, "saucy fans" have started to lay a heap of what the Star dubs "kinky bets", in the hope of more Kinga-esque and Makosi-fied "jaw-dropping antics" from the "Desperate Housemates". Rooney may not be going, but we'll be there! Red-top rumours of uber-boobed glam babe and ex-beauty queen Emma Spellar being shipped in among the latest dreary fame-crazed inmates are compounded with further speculation that "sexy model" Imogen Thomas - a former Miss Wales - is also in the running for a BB slot. Meanwhile, back to those mucky bets and a quote from bookies Paddy Power who confirmed that "there's been a massive interest in the sex side of things". And there was us thinking it was all a tightly-controlled psychological experiment. Dirty devils. |

Is it only me that never finds topless antics in the BB house? Well very interesting. Maybe it was the inclusion of Nadia a year or so back that ruined that for me. No I think it more because these people love or hate them become part of a kind of family. And its never very comfortable seeing them be lude and crude after you’ve got to know them after a while. I suppose that may be old age speaking maybe my years of holidaying in Spain and attending bars where you sing "get your @@@@ out for the lads " may be over. So lets hope amongst the strippers hackers and call girls they throw in there is a Cameron or a tickle |

I really can't stand it... it puts me off watching it. I don't mind when people are obviously attracted to each other and you get those longing type looks at each other - but I can't stand all the noisy snogging and comparing boob size... it is horrible. |

i agree Milly! a slow-burn thing like Helen and Paul is much more interesting to watch than getting your kit off after five minutes or Anthony and Makosi doing whatever they did in the pool. less is more.... |

We mostly want 'normal' people. Sure, its fun to have a few oddballs, but surely we dont need anymore deperados on telly? |

If they're so keen for raunchiness, why don't they just do a porn BB where they put 12 porn stars into a house with one massive bed and everyone walks around naked all the time and so on if that's what they want. Get it out their system and just put normal people who've never been close to being Miss UK or Mr Universe but actually have some personality in the usual BB house instead. |

I want to be entertained but not in the channel X way |

I don't want to see them parading round trying to outdo each other in raunchiness and shock factor. I think back to Kinga and the infamous bottle last year. Surely enough of that is enough?? The interaction of people from different walks of life can be interesting in itself without people trying to outdo each other on the *shock* factor. |

I have to be careful….I’ve ranted about this stuff for years, and am likely to go off on one again. But anyway…. Thank God for Helen and Paul. Neither of whom I was terribly enamoured with originally, but they shine out as a couple of people who started a real relationship – in a reality show. Kinga and her bottle – last year my BB-hating friend was able to recount the ‘incident’ in great detail – stuff like that gets people talking. The ‘incident’ worried me, not because it might lead’ young impressionable females to 'touch themselves' (I typed the proper word, but it was as censored here) but because, as it says on a site whose raison d’etre is actually to instruct women in such practices (rather than discourage them): ‘It is much safer to stick with objects that cannot break and potentially damage your insides’. (more interesting words in my search history, as a result of that research) When Craig ‘busied’ himself, in relative privacy (certainly not in front of any other housemates), there was still some shock and horror amongst viewers and in the press. I would have thought that at that point he was behaving in a real way….not acting up for the cameras, and not messing with anyone else’s feelings. No, what saddens me is the one-dimensional thing that we see so much of on these type of shows – gorgeous babe, hot guy, flashes her bits, they get it on, etc etc. They probably don't even care about the other person, and certainly haven't bothered to get to know them. It’s all about ratings, of course, and so it’d be a brave person who would agree to have some older and well, ‘ugly’ (if we use the shallow standards so beloved of the media) people in the house. Old and ugly people can fall in love. And when people love each other, it’s not ugly at all. And there's more than one way to skin a cat - people can find love and meaning in many types of relationships which do not have a sexual element. Perhaps the day will come when there will be an all nude/all swinging/all prancing BB – when everyone and anyone will do everything possible with everyone else. And after the first week, most people would get bored watching those antics. Because all the cavorting in the world won’t fill the emptiness left in the human heart. And maybe then the totally uninhibed housemates would try to do something really daring – reach out to each other, and dare to expose their hearts. See – I told you I need to be careful. Rant rant rant……. 'End of' - I hope. |

Lovely post GG. It would have brought a tear to my eye (if I wasn't a hard hearted bi*ch) And I thoroughly agree with you:D except for one thing. I don't really want to see any of the hms pleasuring themselves (or anyone else) and do think they should be able to exercise a bit of restraint for their brief stint on the telly. |

Em....one of the four-legged members of this household has suggested that I might point out that I don't advocate cat-skinning. |
