This year’s Big Brother in the UK is set to spark a £10m (€14.67m) betting bonanza, according to bookmakers.
Big Brother 7 will go on for longer than previous series and will have more contestants.
William Hill predicts the Channel 4 show will lead to the biggest betting spree in reality TV history when it kicks off nextweek.
The £10m figure is double the amount waged on previous series.
William Hill spokesman Rupert Adams said: “In the space of five years, reality TV betting has become a multi-million pound industry and is the bet of choice for many punters who feel that, as they are the judge of who wins, then surely they know as much as the bookies.”
The bookmaker is offering odds of 8/13 for amale winner and 6/5 for a female winner.
Other odds include 2/1 that pregnant presenter Davina McCall will give birth before the end of the show, 5/4 that a couple will have sex on camera, 4/1 that a housemate will escape and 16/1 that a celebrity housemate will be brought in for at least a week.
