BRIAN TWINS IT

BIG Brother’s biggest fan Brian Belo achieved his dream last night by winning the show.

And the 20-year-old was almost lost for words after beating twins Sam and Amanda, 19, in one of the most tense finals ever seen.

Liam McGough finished third with 19.1% of the vote.

Brian walked out of the house to cheers – and into a new life, thanks to the £100,000 prize.

And he has also won a walk-on role on Hollyoaks after bosses heard him sing the praises of the soap.

Brian said of his BB triumph: “This is a dream come true. I thought the twins would win. I expected everyone to think I’m a yoghurt top.”

He says he owes his win to Deal Or No Deal host Noel Edmonds, having copied the star’s Cosmic Ordering beliefs to get on the show.

Like Edmonds, 58, he wrote down three things he wanted to achieve this year and asked “the Universe” to make them come true. And top of his list was to win a place on his all-time favourite show, Big Brother.

Brian, who only got two nominations for eviction throughout the series, said: “I asked the Universe to come on Big Brother.

“And look – it came true. I think I’ve done myself proud to get this. But I’m a bit freaked about being back in the outside world.”

Brian is also in for another treat. As we revealed this week, Hollyoaks chiefs are set to offer him a role as an extra.
And that could see him meet his dream girl Jennifer Metcalfe, 24, alias Mercedes McQueen.

Brian provided most of the comedy on this year’s Channel 4 series – which his mum Sue, 53, has taped for him to watch.

The Essex boy claimed he had never heard of Shakespeare, asking: “What’s Romeo and Juliet? Ain’t Romeo that geezer from So Solid Crew?”

He had viewers in stitches with comments such as: “Politics is showbiz for ugly people.”

Brian also pursued Amanda for weeks until they finally had a snog under a duvet. But she later broke it off.

His most embarrassing moment came when he shared the BB caravan with Charley Uchea, 23.

"I think I’ve done myself proud to get this. But I’m a bit freaked about being back in the outside world"

He got drunk on cider and ended up wetting the bed. When he realised, he said: “I can’t believe they showed that. I wet myself on national TV. I’ll never live it down.”

But he won plenty of female admirers when girls revealed the massive size of his manhood after seeing him do a streak.

And he admitted BB had been a great experience.

Asked what he had learned, he said: “Thanks to Liam, I have learned to shave myself properly.

“I have also learned to respect and listen to other people’s opinions.”

Why B(r)other?
Brian crowned winner but TV ratings hit all-time low

Brian Belo was last night crowned the first black Big Brother winner - in the least watched show ever.

Viewers plummeted to an average of 3.8 million for the eighth series - compared to 4.6 million last year.

Show bosses were criticised for increasingly desperate ploys to win ratings including evicting loudmouth Charley Uchea, 22, then bringing her back in.

But Brian, a 20-year-old clerk from Essex, when told he'd won burst into tears and mumbled: "Oh my days, oh my days. I can't believe it." He pipped favourites 19-year-old squealing twins Sam and Amanda Marchant to claim the £100,000 winner's cheque. Brian scooped 60.3 per cent of the final vote and the £100,000 prize. He told host Davina McCall: "This is the best day of my life."

Meanwhile, Ziggy, 26 - who was fourth - was reunited with Posh Spice wannabe Chanelle, 19, and vowed to have a "sexy time".

Brian crowned Big Brother winner

Brian Belo has won the eighth series of Big Brother after coming top in the public vote.

The 20-year-old data clerk from Essex, who famously told the housemates he had no idea who Shakespeare was, pipped twins Sam and Amanda Marchant to claim the £100,000 winner's cheque.

He was hugged by the screaming twins from Newcastle-under-Lyme after he was told the news by Davina McCall.

The bubbly pair, who counted as one person in the poll, were red hot 1-6 favourites to win.

But Brian's unassuming charm won him thousands of fans with the public and he was always a strong contender.

Earlier, youth worker Carole Vincent and museum visitor assistant Jonty Stern became the first two housemates to be evicted in the Big Brother finale.

Both emerged to cheering crowds as they left the house following a count of the public votes already received.

Carole, a 53-year-old activist who has been in the show from the beginning, came fifth in the final poll while Jonty, 36, was sixth.

Liam McGough finished in third place, while fourth in the public vote was former boyband member Ziggy Lichman, 26, whose romance with Posh Spice wannabe Chanelle was one of the main talking points in this year's show.

FAME AND FORTUNATE
AFTER THREE MONTHS, IT'S TIME TO FREE THE TV WANNABES BUT THAT DOESN'T MEAN WE'VE SEEN THE LAST OF THEM

BIG BROTHER has spawned a fair few success stories in its time.

Most memorable is Jade Goody who, despite not knowing who Saddam Hussein and Sherlock Holmes were, went on to be the most famous and wealthy contestant from BB3.

She might not have won - Kate Lawler did and has since struggled to make a name for herself in television - but Jade has certainly surprised all her critics by becoming one of the most successful BB contestants ever.

Since leaving the house she has appeared in any number of TV shows and even starred in her own programmes Jade's Salon and What Jade Did Next.

She has also launched her own perfume and made a fitness video, reportedly earning about £2million.

Others who found a certain level of success on leaving the house include BB1 winner Craig Philips who, after giving away his winnings, found himself as a TV DIY expert, although he did also make a flop Christmas single.

BB2 winner Brian Dowling endeared himself to the nation with his cheeky campness and for a while after became a permanent fixture of children's TV.

Even now, six years on, he still has enough TV work in his Irish homeland to stop him returning to work as an airline steward.

Big Brother Is Over

Brian Belo is the winner of Big Brother 7, and he scooped the £100,000 prize.

He'll be spending the next week trying to count how much money that is. He's a man who thinks the moon is bigger than the universe so he'll think 100-grand is bigger than all the money in the world. So he'll be happy.

When he won Brian said: “I don’t know how I done it!”

So that's another thing to add to the 'Things Brian Doesn't Know' list, which also includes 'who Shakespeare is' and 'that Amanda doesn't want him'.

He said to Davina: “I don’t know how I won it. How did I do it? How did I do it Davina? I just thought people would think ‘who’s that knucklehead boy?’”

Maybe they did, and that's how you won. With your being first and the twins being second it's clear they the voters weren't rewarding academic prowess. The educated members of the house were voted out earlier, but the more simple folk were the winners.

It's worrying to think that the UK population votes for thick people. Maybe the Tories should've made Boris Johnson leader after all.

As for the runners-up, when Davina was chatting with Amanda and Sam, Amnda said of Brian: “He’s just so sweet. He’s dead cute.” Davina asked if she was having second thoughts after ditching him in the house, and Amanda confessed “a little bit.”

That's odd. She clearly didn't want him when they were in the house. What could've changed between then and now that he's the winner with 100k?

Maybe the twins aren't at dizzy as they look.

Twins' bid for pop stardom?

Big Brother runners-up Sam and Amanda could be heading into the charts before long, according to reports.

The Sun has said that record company bosses have offered the girls a six-figure deal to do a cover version of Aqua's number one hit Barbie Girl - and that it may even feature a rap from Brian.

"Record companies have been contacting us asking to pass on their numbers," a show insider told the paper. "They are fighting over Samanda."

"A couple of them have had the same idea of getting Brian on board as well. It would be a total car crash but it would do brilliantly with their fans."

The 19-year-olds finished second in Friday night's Big Brother final, despite being the hot favourites with the bookies.

The paper also reports that the bookmakers have been breathing a sigh of relief after Brian snatched a last-minute victory from the twins.

The pair had had odds of 1-25 to win the series, and had sparked a betting frenzy among punters - but their fans ended up out of pocket, including one person who had wagered £50,000 on them winning.

"This is the best reality TV betting result ever," a William Hill spokesperson said. "The satchels are full!"
