The Hating Game Rachel looks upset

Rex encourages Rachel to reveal her dark side...
It's slowly emerged over the past few weeks that Rachel is very reserved about her opinions and Rex is very open about his - a perfect recipe for friction. It was long past bed time, but Rex was determined to get Rachel to admit that she hated someone. Well, anyone...
"Alright Rex," said a clearly tired Rachel, "let's just end this game - I like to see the best in people. Even people that are bad, there's something in them."
But Rex was like a dog with a bone. "There's nothing wrong with disliking people," he continued. "You need to wake up and join the real world. You will get seriously hurt in your life living like this."
"I know I'll get hurt," replied Rachel, looking genuinely hurt.
Kathreya, who'd been listening intently, could see Rachel's point exactly. "It doesn't matter to get hurt," she said. "We get hurt so many times, but we're not going to change who we are. We are better than that."
Again, Rex tried desperately to make Rachel crack. "You must have some hatred inside you," he said. "It's impossible not to."
But Rachel was sticking to her guns and no-one - not even Rex - was going to make her change. "Sometimes when people really hate you, the nicer you are to them, the more they hate you."
That almost sounds like a Morrissey song...
