It's Final night, and here's the challenge. We've spent 13 weeks bitching and sniping and complaining about them. Now you, forum members, have to say something positive about every single HM that's been in the house this year. So here goes: - Bex - brought energy and fun to the house, was always up for a laugh and was never up herself Luke - hilarious diary room entries, a very astute observer of events and his blossoming romance with Bex was sweet to watch Dale - best looking HM they've ever had. Was more vulnerable than people imagined he was, and cleverer too. Stu - always took an enthusiastic part in the tasks, was good to watch due to rippling muscles! Lisa - brilliant HM. Mad as a box of frogs. Completely bonkers stories about little green men and wasps like rattlesnakes. A true original Mario - comedy gold. Like David Brent in a muscle suit. Darnell - when he was right, he was absolutely right. Lovely voice, creative and musical and a secret romantic. Rachel - loyal to her friends, a decent person on the whole, ready to put her own needs to one side for the benefit of the house. Was a very good HoH Kathreya - was sweet and caring at times, especially to her friends. Showed her mature side in late night conversations with the likes of Rex. Belinda - classic HM. Completely cringeworthy, but didn't give a toss about that at all. Full of fun and energy. Maysoon - beautiful and graceful, but not conceited. Mikey - an odd person, but oddly likeable. Direct and honest, eccentric and unpretentious. Has probably changed the public perception of blind people and what they can and can't do. Sara - complex, mixed-up and that's what makes her so great. The person I would most probably end up friends with in the house, were I a HM. Mohamed - brought a refreshing, childlike enthusiasm to the house. Like an 8 year old boy in an adult's body - a bit like a lot of men! His flatulence could be hilariously apt, like when he let rip right in the middle of one of Darnell's sessions of self-analysis. Stephanie - not afraid to stand up for herself, made the best she could of a difficult situation. Alex - certainly not afraid to speak her mind, no matter how unpopular it might have made her inside or outside the house. You'd want her on your side in a fight! Dennis - was an excellent choreographer for a very difficult task, clearly good at teaching and coaching people, made me laugh on a number of occasions. Sylvia - perhaps the most beautiful HM they've ever had on the show. (I'm beginning to flag now) Nicole - good at the Thriller task. Jen - ummmmmmm OK, was quite pretty and sweet-looking I guess REX - one of the best housemates ever. Has completely polarised opinion about himself - total Marmite, which is the sign of a brilliant HM, if you ask me. Hilarious wind-up merchant, intelligent, astute and unafraid to speak his mind. Has made this series for me and for others, I'm sure. Deserves to win, but probably won't. So - your turn everyone |

Nice one, Bunny. As I said a few days ago, I saw a similar thread elsewhere, and liked the idea. So: Bex: Brought energy to the house, and made people laugh. Luke: In the early days, he was very amusing. His 'No Rebecca!' phrase will live on in our memories. And as Grace Dent observed, he appeared to have genuine concern and affection for Bex. Dale: Lovely eyes. At times he was even capable of being self-deprecating. It still amuses me that people wonder if he's capable of 'coming up with big words', when he used some of those words while he was in the house - but when it came to articulating his thoughts, he didn't deliver. Stu: At times he seemed to be able to rise above the 'clique mentality'. In the cycling task, he was inspirational and encouraging. He didn't succumb to the temptation to have a meaningless fling in the house with flirty Sara - I think he has a genuine desire to be in a real relationship. Lisa: I never really understood why people would say she was mad; I thought she was just slightly eccentric (possibly that says more about me, though!). Enthusiastic, and hardly ever complained, despite having been stuck in hell for a few weeks. Mario: A one-off Housemate. David Brent & Gordon Brittas combined. Kept us amused. Darnell: Nice guy when he's not so obsessed with how he's portrayed. And despite his 'wordly experience', possibly one of the most innocent housemates ever. Rachel: Kind, caring, supportive, encouraging, forgiving, empathetic, dignified, good-humoured, helpful, restrained. Kathreya: Unique. Wanted everyone to be happy. Fiercely, even unconditionally loyal to those whom she deemed to be her friends. Maternal. Belinda: Energetic, interested in others. Eccentric. Cuddly. Maysoon: Dignified, beautiful, not up her own posterior. A real model. Mikey: Genuine. Funny. Secure. Independent. Impressive. Quirky. Better looking with shorter hair. Sara: Giving. Funny. Forgiving! Enthusiastic. Mohamed: Resilient. Easy-going. Lovely skin colour. Nice smile. Up for a laugh. Stephanie: Pretty (even with the smudged eye make-up). Didn't see enough of her to say much else about her, apart from the fact that she stood up for herself, and she had a ridiculously difficult first week in the house, posing as Mario's fiancee. Alex: Said what she thought (including objecting at the 'marriage'). I think underneath the bad stuff, she cared about some HMs. Denis: Entertaining, witty. Lovely lovely eyes. Sylvia: Beautiful, physically. Doesn't like people wearing her knickers. Nice voice. Nicole: Supported Rex, despite the way things were. If I worry that that makes her a doormat, conversely I would say 'answered Rex back sometimes'. Didn't walk, despite the way things were. Jen: Had a definite maternal side to her. Even when there was the Sylvia/Dale/Jen wretched 'love triangle', Jen at one stage gave what I considered to be good advice to Sylvia. Pretty. Rex: Noticeable. Not a shrinking violet. Has got rhythm. Capable of coming up with witty comments. At times gave good advice to Darnell. |
