HOSPITAL bosses have apologised to the family of a 70-year-old dementia sufferer who was left to fall three times in four days.
Great-grandma Ellen Hughes suffered “horrific” bruising, a suspected broken thigh and a bleed on the brain after falling on three occasions while at Mossley Hill hospital.
Mrs Hughes, whose 18 grandchildren included
former Big Brother finalist Jennie Corner, died last month.
Her daughter Linda Corner, herself a former home help, said the way her mother was treated on the hospital’s Acorn ward was “appalling”.
