A LEIGH student has won through to the semi-finals of the Miss England beauty pageant.

She proved she was more than just a pretty face by raising more than £600 for eating disorder charity BEAT, impressing current Miss England Laura Coleman and fellow judges Sam and Amanda Marchant – the twins from Big Brother Eight.
