BIG Brother star Mikey Hughes has been nominated for a Great Scot award.On Friday, Mikey received a call telling him he was up for the Johnnie Walker Blue Label Great Scot Award 2011 in the category of “outstanding contribution to entertainment.”
Now, blind Mikey, 33, of Kilwinning, who shot to fame in the reality show, will head to London’s Canary Wharf on Wednesday, May 4 for the star-studded bash.
The awards celebrate all things Scottish and are presented by journalist and broadcaster Andrew Neil.
Past recipients of the Great Scot Award include racing driver Sir Jackie Stewart and artist Jack Vettriano.
The judging panel includes Andrew Neil and Paul Walsh, Chief Executive of Diageo.
Thrilled Mikey said: “This is a real honour and I was so surprised to get word about this nomination.
“To win would be wonderful but just to be nominated is a fantastic honour in itself and I am over the moon about it.”
