I wonder if JJ has been put in there to stir things up a bit, because when someone said near the beginning that everyone was getting on well, he said 'I don't really like it like that. I want someone to kick off'. He knows that he won't win because he is from a different country (well that is what he said anyway), so he may think he has got nothing to lose by trying to stir things up a bit.

He is becoming more paranoid because he knows any normal person would not allow him to talk to them they way he talks to Rachael so his little mind in running amok as to what whispering she is doing behind his back.
The more she is not reacting the more angry he is getting.
