I've been in touch with GG on Facebook, and she's giving reality tv a miss this year. I'll miss her around here! Nothing back from John yet. I'll have to nudge a few other BBFans no-shows on Facebook. Now that I can finally come online during the summer months, I want to have some people to talk to!!

howdo guys made it back from Wimbledon, I had a very enjoyable day

stayed on Court 3 so I saw wins for:

Kuznetsova
Simon and
Mauresmo

then went to the Hill to watch Murray match, with about 5000 others

also saw Venus warming up before her match on Court 14 (I think) with her dad and her trainer

highlight of my day probably getting home in time to see myself on Today at Wimbledon highlights (very briefly in Simon bit)

well worth getting up at 6am

We have had a glorious day here It was school sports as well so it makes a MASSIVE change.

yeah it was very sunny and mega hot

Wimbledon have been very lucky with the weather this year (ironic now they've built the roof on centre court)

That's a fair point tbh. Everyone seems to be trying to shoehorn it into everything at the moment. They were even discussing it on Wimbledon today. Let's ask John McEnroe what he thinks, even though he never met him. Then they tried to tenuosly connect it to being pushed into stardom early by parents and having to watch out for young tennis players

I agree, the same also applies for the selective outpouring of grief for certain "normal people" deaths whereby there are pointless minutes silences because the media have degreed that it's right thing to do

why for instance were Huntley's victims deemed worthy of a minutes silence, but Charlene Ellis and Letitia Shakespeare weren't (when they both were killed around the same time)

let's show our grief for Ken Bigley, but ignore other hostages that were killed in Iraq

I'm afraid we live in a pointless 24/7 news channel world, where airtime has to be filled regardless of whether anything interesting/relevant is being said. Uri Gellar hasn't had this much work since the 70's

I'm not particularly sad that MJ is dead, just a bit shocked that he's dead at 50

I have most of his albums, but I wouldn't say I was massive fan. I had no interest in seeing his concerts as I didn't think they'd been any good

my issue with the first joke, is that I don't find paedo jokes (however tenuous) funny
