Mario Mugan, of Southend-on-Sea, Essex, is an avid Big Brother fan and was thrilled when he learnt that the diary room chair used in Celebrity Big Brother 5 was on sale at BuyOnceGiveTwice.co.uk.

“I am installing a bar in my house and the chair will be perfect for it,” says the 26-year-old dressmaking student. “I want to see my friends' reactions when they see it. I paid £6,600, which is much less than I expected - and it goes to a great cause.”

The sale benefited GetConnected, a charity that offers a helpline for young people who find themselves in difficulties. It has not been Mr Mugan's only purchase. “I also bought a bottle of whisky signed by Gordon Brown for £1,000 and tickets to a fashion show in London for £2,000. That includes travel by limousine from Southend, with champagne, so is great value. I like the concept. I get to buy unique things and help others.”

BIG Brother “mole’’ Mario Mugan has sparked a speculation frenzy in the house that he’s linked to the Mafia.

The popular wannabe, 28, who is half Italian and half English, is up for eviction tomorrow.

He has told the gang if he goes, he will spill the beans about “a big secret’’ he has been keeping.

At first the group thought the fashion designer, 28, was related to the Prada family because of his love of designer gear. Others speculated that he might be a prince.

However, the mystery deepened when the housemates started talking about Mario’s possible wealth. Ex-soldier Steve Gill, 40, said: “Your parents are rich ... so you’ll be all right when it’s time to pick up the will.”

Mysterious Mario then alluded to the fact that he might have murderous Mafia links. He said: “Yes, I’ll be all right.

“But I need to arrange a few assassinations ... oops, I mean accidents.”

Then he went into a long monologue about how he loved Sicily, where the Mafia was founded.

A Channel 4 spokeswoman said: “If Mario has a big secret it’s not something we know about.”

Ife and Govan have been questioning Mario about his secret, which he earlier promised to reveal upon his eviction.

The trio strayed onto the subject after Ife confessed to the 28-year-old former mole that she initially had trouble getting to know him because she felt he was holding something back.

Mario clarified that his parents were not actors and that it was Josie who had spread that rumour.

"Oh my god, Ben’s your boyfriend," shouted Govan. Mario quickly denied this and Ife repeated her feeling that the secret involved his parents and claimed she had an idea of what it could be.

The two continued to guess until Ife asked if Mario's parents were fashion designers. Govan specifically ventured that he might be the son of Miuccia Prada.

"This makes so much sense now," beamed Ife, referring to her confusion as to why Mario didn't speak more about being an amateur fashion designer himself. "You said you don’t need to live off your parents, you want to do it yourself."

Mario refused to confirm or deny their speculation, convincing Govan and Ife that they were right about Mario beinga a member of the Prada family.

When Mario left the bathroom, Ife informed Govan that Mario's reserved character had made her feel uncomfortable in the past.

"I said that something was up with Mario, I didn’t know what it was but I knew it was something to do with his other life.

"Going out of his way to tell us he's poor but going on about his rich expensive lives… I knew something was up."

Ife's certainty was later undone though, after Shabby revealed that Mario said she in particular would "spin out" when he revealed his secret, even though she has no interest in fashion.
