Ratings Drop As Fans Call For Live Feed Return Big Brother audience figures have fallen over the weekend as fans of the reality show continue to urge Channel 5 bosses to reverse their decision to replace 24-hour live feeds in favour of social media applications. The launch event on Friday night attracted 2.63 million viewers (which was a sharp decline on the levels recorded for the celebrity version of previous weeks) yet that audience share has fallen over the weekend with 1.4 million people tuning in on Saturday and Sunday respectively. channelhopping |

Ex-Gladiator warns housemates on Big Brother ‘be nice to my little sister’ A FEMALE teenage wrestler from Tamworth is one of 14 people from across the UK to be selected to enter the Big Brother household for the 2011 TV show. Faye Palmer, aged 19, entered the famous house on Friday night and will compete to be the last remaining housemate to win a £100,000 cash prize. Her big sister Jemma Palmer, who saw TV fame when she starred as Inferno in Gladiators, spoke to the Herald this week – and said Faye had kept the news a secret from the family. “The first I knew she was in the house was when I saw her on TV walking on the catwalk. She hadn’t said anything about it at all,” Jemma said. “She told me she had gone to do some modelling, so when I saw her on TV it was a big shock.” Faye is a competitive wrestler whose professional name is Darcy Steele. She has dedicated her life to the career after leaving university. thisistamworth |

It's all gone belly up: Tearful belly dancer Tashie Jackson is the first out of Big Brother Singer/dancer Tashie Jackson became the first housemate to be evicted from this series of Big Brother. The 21-year-old from Oxford fought off tears as she received more public votes than fellow nominated housemates Aaron Allavd-Morgan and Harry Blake. Whenever host Brian Dowling called her name during the live broadcast, she heard the baying crowd in the Elstree studios booing. DailyMail |

Tashie Jackson’s Big Brother eviction seen by 1.8m as viewers switch off The 21-year-old belly dancing enthusiast was the latest in a long list of female contestants to be the first to leave the house, and emerged at the top of the stairs to a chorus of boos. With her eviction taking place at the end of Friday night’s Big Brother episode, 1.25m viewers returned at 11pm to see her interviewed by host Brian Dowling. The 1.8m figure represents a loss of 800k viewers since last week’s launch show, and a landslide when compared to sister show Celebrity Big Brother – which drew in 5.16m for its opening instalment. Sacha and BB star in sexy ad Bedford blues rugby star Sacha Harding has hit the headlines after appearing in a raunchy online advert with Big Brother star Tashie Jackson. The flanker appears alongside the brunette - who was one of the first contestants to face eviction on the Channel 5 show - in his role as Britain’s Manliest Man and the face of The Bluebeards Revenge after clocking up 140,000 nationwide votes. The bizarre ad for Bluebeards Revenge's shaving products sees Tashie - a former Harry Potter extra - walk into 'Sacha's Shave Emporium' to have him shave her legs. And after she tells him about her dilemma involving a married man, she cops off with the rugby player. Bedfordshire-News |

Big Brother 'Gerbils' punished for not 'respecting' rules The Big Brother housemates have been punished for destructive partying. The group were woken at around 9.30am when Big Brother turned on the bedroom lights and ordered them to gather in the living area. Mark Henderson said: "This is going to be bad, isn't it?". The housemates were read a list of rules that they had broken during the alcohol-fuelled partying. The inmates were reprimanded for tampering with fixtures and fittings, interfering with cameras and microphones - which Jay McKray accepted responsibility for - and damaging the house itself. Big Brother has told the group there will be no hot water, hair appliances or alcohol until further notice. The announcer said: "Big Brother expects that in future housemates treat the house and its contents with respect." The guilty housemates responded with a chorus of apologies. STV.tv |
