‘SHOPPING TASK: MAN VS BEAST’



Today, housemates’ bravery will be tested as they go head-to-head against a wild and savage gorilla!

Housemates will unknowingly be taking part in this week’s shopping task with world famous gorilla impersonator, Peter Elliot. There will be a ‘trained handler’ and a ‘wrangler’ (both actors) present to ensure the housemates are safe at all times.

Big Brother will present each housemate with a gorilla cuddly toy which they have to cuddle to transfer ‘their scent’. The ‘gorilla’ will then sniff out which housemate he wants to take part in the first challenge and after that, housemates will decide who will take part in the subsequent challenges. All successfully completed challenges earn the housemates 30 seconds towards the final task.

Challenge 1: The chosen housemate must enter the cage and pass a beach ball backwards and forwards with the gorilla. To succeed in this challenge, the housemate must get three passes between them and the gorilla and will earn 30 seconds towards the final task.

Challenge 2: Two housemates must enter the cage armed with a camera and some gorilla feed. Their challenge is to get a photo of one of them with the gorilla. If they get a good photo, they will earn 30 seconds towards the final task.

Challenge 3: A housemate must attempt to make the gorilla dance using their own dance moves and a portable CD player. If they manage to make the gorilla dance, they will earn 30 seconds towards the final task.

Challenge 4: One of the housemates must enter the cage dressed as a gorilla and they are told that they must bond with the animal. The gorilla will then get too close for comfort and start picking nits off of the housemate. Big Brother will indicate when the housemate can leave the cage.

FINAL TASK – Bananageddon: In the garden there are 500 bananas, each worth £1.00. All housemates will have the amount of time that they won to collect as many bananas as possible – however, during this time, the gorilla will be roaming free…

Challenge 1: Alex was the housemate chosen by gorilla, Yambo, to complete the beach ball task. She successfully passed the beach ball between her and Yambo three times, meaning she passed and gained 30 seconds for the final task.

Challenge 2: Heaven and Mark were the two housemates chosen by Yambo to take part in the second challenge. Heaven successfully took a good picture of Mark with Yambo and gained 30 seconds towards the final task.

Challenge 3: Maisy volunteered to take part in the final challenge. She dressed as a gorilla and had to get up close and personal with Yambo, proving that she was able to be sociable with the animal and make him like her. She succeeded and gained 30 seconds towards the final task.

FINAL TASK: Bananageddon: Housemates gained 90 seconds in total for the final task and were presented with 400 bananas in the garden and 2 monkeys. Each banana was worth £1.00 towards the shopping budget and each monkey was worth £50 (there were 2 of them). Housemates who had not already completed a challenge with Yambo had a minute and a half to collect as many bananas in a tag relay.

Housemates have won £398 for their shopping budget by completing this week’s shopping task ‘Man VS Beast’.

The 8 Housemates who took part in the final Bananageddon task (Aden, Anton, Aaron, Jay, Harry, Tom, Louise and Faye) managed to collect 298 bananas (worth £1 each) and 2 prized monkeys (worth £50 each) and have therefore successfully won £398 for their shopping budget.
