Day 55
08:32am
The house is in a filthy state and with nine days to go, the housemates have given up and are living in squalor. Queen of Clean Kim Woodburn has snuck into the house to inspect the extent of the filth. After a look around the living area Kim whispers that she has seen enough and retreats to the diary room. She tells Big Brother how disgusted she is by the state of the house. “It’s putrid, dirty beggars!” Kim will return to the house later to give the housemates a special task.
11:01am
For today’s shopping task housemates have been provided with pristine white outfits. Housemates are gathered on the sofa and are stunned by the sudden appearance of Kim Woodburn exiting the diary room. Housemates are excited but Kim quickly silences them. “Oh, the trumper,” she exclaims as she hones in on Jay, “Don’t do it in front of me,” she warns. Kim reveals that this week housemates are being offered the full £300 luxury shopping budget to begin with but their job is to hang on to it. They are all wearing crisp beautiful white outfits and their task is to stay clean. Kim will return to the house later today to judge their efforts and will deduct £50 from their budget for every outfit she deems to be dirty.
Kim ushers the housemates into the bedroom and is disgusted when she sees the extent of their mess. “It stinks, it’s disgraceful!” she shouts: “And you, Mr Posh Hoy Polloi,” she brands Aaron who grins and looks embarrassed. Housemates retreat to the living area where their special guest warns them that she will return later.
11:21am
In the living area Tom raises a Kim related question asking: “Do you think her bun is real?”
Aaron and Faye are strolling around the garden. Aaron asks Faye if she would get married in the dress she’s wearing and Faye says she would. They stop suddenly and begin to slow dance. “What music shall we pretend we’re dancing to, S Club 7, Never Had a Dream Come True?” Aaron is delighted and says that he loves the song. Housemates are watching from the living area. Tom quips: “Give them half an hour, they’ll be stabbing each other in the face, we’re due an argument!”
11:54am
Housemates are eating leftovers in their spotless suits. Big Brother calls one housemate to the diary room and Alex complies. Big Brother presents her with a tray containing 6 glasses of Virgin Mary and requests that she takes the tray back to her fellow housemates being careful to mind her spotless outfit. Alex attempts to leave the room but drops the tray and spills all of its contents over herself. Big Brother gives Alex another tray of mocktails and this time she manages to leave the diary room. When she finally reaches the bedroom, Alex relays the details of her messy challenge.
12:36pm
The second part of today’s shopping task will shake up the housemates. Tom and Aaron undertake a soup-eating challenge - whilst sitting on mini bucking broncos. The pair must feed each other pea soup with long giant spoons whilst being shaken about and with minimal spillage. Housemates watch from the sidelines and laugh at the jiggling duo. “It’s throbbing,” Alex laughs while pointing at Aaron’s crutch. Later in the diary room Aaron and Tom analyse their task. Tom tells him: “You were slow and steady, I was rough and ready.” “It’s not my forte putting things in my mouth,” Aaron explains.
2:17pm
At the smoking area, Aaron tells Jay that he doesn’t think the housemates stand a chance of staying clean. Meanwhile, Faye and Louise are cosied up in bed. Louise says that her own bed is uncomfortable so she isn’t sleeping well: “Jay takes up all the room and it’s too warm.” Faye tells her that she is welcome to share with her sometimes. She grins and tells Faye, “Jay’s got a lovely head; he’s like a little alien.” Faye tells her that she loves Aaron’s eyes and the talk turns to bed action. Louise tells Faye that she can’t imagine Aaron “at it,” and they both laugh. “No, he’s so polite,” Faye remarks and they both agree that they would want to get to know Aaron and Jay better before taking their relationships any further. Louise laughs and confesses that things have got heated with Jay and says they’ve “had a fumble.” The girls continue to giggle and whisper under the duvet.
3:11pm
All the talk about cleanliness has had a positive effect on Tom. He suggests that housemates clean the house. Jay is in the diary room doing his part of the task. He is accompanied by a slowly inflating, paint-filled balloon and must wrap himself in cling film to protect his suit before the balloon pops. He has 60 seconds. “Jay, blow Big Brother away you’re your wrapping,” Big Brother instructs, and Jay swiftly manages to cover one leg and most of his body before the sudden splat.
4:42pm
Tom, Alex and Aaron are in the living area talking about posing topless. “I won’t do it,” Alex adds and Aaron says that he thinks Louise would pose topless once she leaves the house. Tom remarks: “She said she’s been there done that,” and tells housemates that he doesn’t mind getting his bits out in the house as it’s a natural environment but wouldn’t be sure about posing for a magazine.
Faye and Louise are in the diary room nervously receiving the rules for their part of the shopping task. They enter the small task room as instructed and have 60 seconds before showers of blue paint will spray them from overhead. Their mission is to find a key in that will open a padlock on a giant box in front of them. By getting into the box, Louise and Faye will be protected from impending paint shower. The girls efforts prove unsuccessful and they leave the task room covered in blue paint.
5:07pm
Aaron and Tom are complimenting each other on their appearance. “We look like Robson & Jerome,” Tom beams. They decide to clean the house and Aaron heads off to collect the vacuum as Faye complains and claims that she also wants to use it. Aaron has trouble getting it to work and Tom quips: “How many 30 year old men does it take to work a vacuum cleaner?” Aaron asks housemates if they feel they have been the messiest house ever: “We must be known as the disgusting house,” he remarks. Alex asks where Jay is and Aaron mentions that he is smoking. “For someone who’s always going on about cleaning.…” Tom moans.
5:59pm
Housemates have been trying to remain tidy for most of the day. They are gathered on the sofa while Alex and Aaron make their way to the diary room.
The rest of the housemates are unaware that the duo are negotiating their way, mission impossible style, through a web of paint strung between the walls of the hallway leading to the diary room. At the sofas housemates can hear Aaron and Alex’s squeals. “I hope he gets covered in dog s**t,” Jay moans and shouts at the pair to “hurry up!” In the diary room Alex and Aaron are told that they have 30 seconds to make the return journey through the web. They manage to complete the task in time with Alex leaping the last few inches. When they explain the task to the housemates Jay is dismissive of their efforts. “It’s not as hard as I would have expected,” he remarks.
7:24pm
Earlier today housemates received a task and are still wearing their outfits. Aaron tells Faye that her long dress suits her adding: “I’ve never seen you in a long dress.” “And you never will again,” Faye retorts. Aaron asks her if she will wear a long dress at her wedding but Faye skips to the music and asks what songs Aaron would like at his wedding. “Just the Two of Us or The Girl is Mine,” Aaron tells her.
Housemates are called into the garden. Queen of Clean Kim is waiting outside and judges the state of their outfits. She assesses each housemate and deems Aaron, Jay and Tom to be clean and Alex, Faye and Louise to be dirty. Big Brother announces that as a result the luxury shopping budget has been reduced from £300 to £150. “I’m going to add 50 pounds,” Kim tells them, “You’re all dirty but all lovely,” she adds before leaving the house.
9:22pm
Louise is in the bathroom. Some of the boys are in the kitchen talking about intimacy. Jay tells Aaron that he and Faye’s night time conversation made him want to “throw up.” “I can hear every word you say,” he adds.
Louise enters the bedroom and Faye and Alex ask her if she is alright. Louise tells them that she is feeling “a bit down” but can’t explain it. Alex tells her that her feelings are perfectly normal, “We’re all missing our family and friends,” she reassures her. Louise tells the girls, “I wish I could be as strong as you,” and Faye reminds her of her own mood changes adding: “I’ve cried all the time!”
11:30pm
Aaron is in the diary room talking about this week’s nominees. He confesses that he hardly speaks to Louise anymore. “I prefer someone annoying that also makes me happy,” to someone that has no impact on his time in the house. Faye and Alex are in the living area. “This is the happiest I’ve been in my life,” Faye tells Alex and says that the house has been a “protective bubble.”
Jay and Louise are in bed talking. He tells her that it would be “wicked,” if she stays in the house until the final. “I’ll miss you so much,” Louise tells him as the pair kiss and cuddle. Jay tells Louise, “You’re the only f***ker in here that keeps me sane.” “I want you on me all the time,” he ends.
