Day 26: Here’s Luke-ing at you kid


There’s plenty of room for two Lukes in the Big Brother House but their paths have rarely crossed in the past few weeks.

Day 25 saw the two spending a good half an hour chatting in the kitchen, bonding over past employment in the hospitality industry and preparing dinner together.

While Luke S has established himself as something of an alpha male in the house – sprinkling testosterone like a priest with holy water as he locks lips with Ashleigh, bench-presses Lauren and defends his protein supply, Luke A sometimes struggles to find his place.

We'd never seen Luke A as smiley as when he thought he'd scored the team 20 points in the 100 task, earning whoops of recognition from his peers. So we collectively viewed the moment BB revealed he'd actually lost the housemates points through the cracks of our fingers.

Uncharacteristically, Luke S jumped to his defence in the Diary Room, showing us he actually cares.

With Lydia gone, The Outsiders are a woman down. Can they exist as a threesome, or will Luke A need to form new alliances?

We checked back through our records – examining a general knowledge quiz we set the housemates while they were in hiding - to see if these two would make a compatible meeting of minds.

And they were off to a good start – both knew the name of the Prime Minister and his Deputy. The two Lukes knew The Olympics is being held in London and the name of the president of the United States (although Luke A spelt it O’Bama). Luke S actually proved himself the smarter of the two – knowing all seven continents to Luke A’s four (he didn’t even get Europe) but neither of them knew how to spell Shakespeare.

Overall they seem to be a fair intellectual match. Conversations could take a turn for the high-brow. To be fair, anything beats Becky singing to her chicken nuggets.

Day 26: The Outsiders listen in


They're a woman down but this doesn't mean the Outsiders are ready to give up on themselves. Uh-uh, wrong, no way, Jose. *ahem*

Tactical chats in the movies tend to take place in underground car parks or while sitting on a park benches wearing sunglasses. However, Lauren and Adam are locked in a bedsit in Borehamwood and have to make do with what's going.

The kitchen sink was the spot Adam chose to brief Lauren on the House dramas of the day. She was only too keen to listen. "Fill me in because I'm deaf to some stuff," she said while scrubbing the residue of lasagne off a plate.

Adam leaned in and lowered his voice and it got painfully hard to listen, particularly with Conor and Arron whoopin' and hollerin' in the background.

"MumblemumblemumbleBeckySarayelling mumble," we picked up.
"WhoophollerAshleighslappedLukebuttheymadeuphollerwhoop."

With Lauren sufficiently impressed, the former drill sergeant sensed a true student and launched some tips on how to become an intelligence sponge.

"When you're in the area and they begin to rant about something, listen. Next time there's free info around, you suck it up without being noticed because they're not going to talk to you openly."

Wise words, Adam. We hope Mi5 are taking note.

Luke A then sauntered over in time to agree that the Insiders will self-destruct and all the Outsiders need to do is "keep it real". The three then enjoyed an optimistic group hug.

I know Chevone and then Becky made comments about the fakeness of sara and Arrons relationship but all the vids I have seen make no sense and to be honest I dont know why the dolts at C5 bothered posting them.

Im pretty sure only those watching without the sound on would care if either left...

Day 54: Becky's actions speak louder than words


Last night, in a bathroom outburst to Sara, wildcard Becky showed both the 'wild' and 'card' side of her character. In the tone of a storyteller who wants to scare children, she growled that she has a winning game plan which involves being silent and taking up smoking and... no, that was it .

Obviously, this is not the most sophisticated gameplan the world has ever seen. It's likely that it's just an extended piece of anti-Outsiders dramatics rather than anything remotely serious. After Deana, Adam and Luke A received crowd cheers during last night's eviction show, she and her Insider pals, who take the reductionist view that the trio do nothing but smoke and stare, are unsettled and confused. It seems that Becky's response is to satirise the situation in a one-woman-show.

But can Becky put her money where her mouth is? The bubbly Blackburnian has a voice that astronauts report is detectable from space. And was the fag-promise nothing but (the apparently impossible) smoke without fire? Although she shows no signs of smoking, Becky has had an impressive bash at the 'silence' part of her plan since waking.

She got up in silence, sunbathed in silence and had breakfast in silence. Now she's back to sunbathing in silence occasionally sighing dramatically or pouring her personality into hand gestures.

Scott thinks this behaviour is too alien to her character for her to possibly keep it up but what do you think? Is this serving a secondary purpose as an audition video for a mime troupe?
