TASK: PARTY ANIMALS

This week’s shopping task is one long party. To pass this week’s shopping task, the Housemates must party hard for the next two days, attending a number of parties and taking part in all the party games provided. Throughout the day, Big Brother will deliver invitations requiring a certain number of Housemates to attend each party. During each party they must pass a party game. They will pass the shopping task if they attend the parties and win the party games. They will fail by losing the games or failing to attend the parties they are invited to. They are permitted up to three fails over the whole task.

CHILDREN’S PARTY
The first party is a children’s party to which all Housemates are invited. To pass this task, five of them will take part in a children’s party themed assault course. During the assault course each Housemate must fill a party bag, collecting the contents as they go. The assault course starts with them eating a bowl of jelly and ice cream, before bouncing on a bouncy castle, then riding a tricycle between coned party hats, having their face painted with a painting roller, clambering through a ball pond, and pinning the now-full party bag on the donkey. All five must complete the assault course within a limited amount of time in order to pass.

SLUMBER PARTY
The girls are invited to a girly slumber party in the Large Task Room. On a giant plush bed, they have a series of pillow fights, attempting to knock one another off the bed. The boys, meanwhile, watch the pillow fight from the TV in the Living Area. They must accurately guess which girl will be the last one standing.

DINNER PARTY
The table is set with a lavish dinner for all ten Housemates. During dinner, they must also take it in turns to choose conversation starters from a hat and initiate intellectual discussions on the subjects chosen e.g. fame or fortune?, looks or personality? Should the BB prize money be split?

PARTY ANIMALS’ ALL NIGHTER
Three Housemates will ‘enjoy’ an all night endurance party in the Small Task Room. With a light up dance floor and glitter ball, this is the rave that never ends. They must dance enthusiastically until the club closes, with at least two people on the dance floor at all times.

TRIGGER NEW YEAR’S EVE PARTY
Throughout the task, Housemates must respond to a countdown for midnight 10, 9, 8… Whenever the countdown begins, they must gather before the clock strikes midnight at the New Year’s Eve party, permanently set up in a corner of the Living Area. When the trigger sounds, they must all gather, hold hands and sing Auld Lang Sine and see in the new year.

The task will continue tomorrow.

It was a day of House parties. Big Brother awoke the housemates with a cry of 'surprise' before treating them to a children's party, complete with jelly and ice cream and a bouncy castle. The 'Party Animals' shopping task was an instant hit.

BB offered the boys a chance to enjoy the girls pillow fighting in their undies on a giant pink bed, during the slumber party element of the task. Delight was short lived as Conor and Luke S overheard the girls gossiping about the boys. Luke S was particularly peeved after hearing Ashleigh tell the ladies he whiffed of onions.

The couple had it out after the the girls put on a pretty poor show with the pillows, with Luke S flipping between wounded puppy and angry badger. He later constructed a love shack in the garden for the pair of them, but Ashleigh went to a rave and he was left alone with his quilt.

Housemates have partied their socks off this evening. BB treated them to a black tie dinner complete with waiter, wine and organised fun. The latter arrived in the form of 'topics of conversation', provided by Big Brother. As part of the task they had to talk non-stop on the chosen subject, speaking honestly at all times.

We were not entirely convinced by some of the tales – not one, but four housemates claimed the kindest thing they have ever done involved helping a little old lady. Not hugely original guys.

Back to the rave. BB challenged the housemates to send their biggest party animals to a late night party. Ashleigh, who read out the instructions, picked herself, Deana and Conor for this dancing task. The three have to have a minimum of two people throwing shapes on the flashing dance floor at any one time. They started out busting some decent moves, before drifting into dad dancing and walking round in a circle.

The three may have bonded, as only those stuck in a sweaty room with the same song on repeat can. We'll have to wait until they wake up this morning to see if it l

It's probably because she thought they were good dancers or liked dancing.

For this week’s shopping task Housemates have become Party Animals, attending a number of parties and taking part in various party games. They will fail by losing the games or failing to attend the parties they are invited to. The task will continue today as follows:

POLITICAL PARTY
Two Housemates will be invited to each form a political party and fight it out, debating head to head. After each two minute debate, they will be questioned by their opponent. Their fellow Housemates will then privately vote via a ballot box on which side they agree. At the end of the task, the two political party leaders are called to the Diary Room to predict which them has won the debate – if they get it right, they will pass this challenge for the team.

OFFICE PARTY
Housemates are invited to an office party. Three of the Housemates become the bosses who must compete in Office Games at the party (aided by their PAs). One of the bosses, however, is given a secret mission that they must win at least two of the three office games in order to win the overall party game for the group. The office games are as follows:

- Office Chair Race
Each Boss must rapidly spin in their chair before dizzily wheeling themselves to the biscuit table. The winner will be the Boss who does this fastest, though if they have spilt too much coffee during the race they will be disqualified
- Name That Noise
Big Brother will play in a number of random noises made by Housemates. The Bosses compete to identify which Housemate made that noise. The first to call Big Brother on their office phone with the correct answer wins
- White Board Picture Guess
Each Boss must guess which Housemate their PA is drawing on the whiteboard

At the end of the party the Boss who won the most games wins a special prize. What Housemates don’t know is that they will only pass if the winner is the Boss who was put on the secret mission.

TRIGGER NEW YEAR’S EVE PARTY
Throughout the task, Housemates have a standing invitation to a New Year’s Eve party which they must gather for whenever they hear Big Ben’s chime. When the trigger sounds, they must all gather, hold hands and sing Auld Lang Syne.

Housemates are permitted up to three fails, and so far have only incurred one. However, they will not be told the results of the task until it ends later today.

Day 51: Office party politics

For the last part of the Party Animals task, the housemates got involved in some office shenanigans. Designated bosses Sara, Scott and Adam - with the help of their PAs Deana, Becky and Luke A, competed in a series of games to win a special prize.

What the housemates didn't know is that Sara was on a secret mission - and that the housemates would only win this part of the task if she won overall.

Sara did in fact did do this - winning both the Office Chair Race and the White Board Picture Guess Game, only losing out to Adam on the Name That Noise Game. This means that the housemates have won this part of the task - And Sara also won a nifty 'special boss' mug.

However, the housemates were left fuming over an incident during the picture game, whereby Sara correctly guessed 'Conor' just from a picture of a circle. As Deana fumbled with the envelope before she pulled out Conor’s name, the other housemates came to the conclusion that there had been foul play - and they weren't happy about it.

Although Deana and Sara protested their innocence, it didn't wash with the other housemates, who gave the duo a hard time for their apparent 'crime'. They spent the time since leaving the task room mocking the girls by commenting on how circular Conor's head is - very mature of them.

Adam in particular won the prize for the sorest loser - even calling his friendship with Deana into question. He deduced from the situation that she may be untrustworthy, saying he couldn’t trust someone who would "act like that" in a game.

And even when Big Brother revealed the true nature of the task, the housemates didn’t seem that repentant for their behaviour. The only thing we can deduce from this episode is that some of the housemates are very sore losers indeed.

Day 51: Cheaters

Some of the housemates are unhappy with the results of today's Party Animals task, convinced that both Sara and Deana have been cheating .. All news and video with this link - Ch5

Day 51: Party Animals - the shopping task results

For this week's shopping task, the housemates were required to party hard for two days. Big Brother has thrown a variety of shindigs their way and here is how they got on...

Children's Assault Course
The five most childish Housemates - Ashleigh, Becky, Caroline, Conor and Scott, took part in the party game. Between them they completed the assault course in 12 minutes and 35 seconds – PASS

Slumber Party
The boys predicted that Sara would win the pillow fight. Although Sara made it through to the final, Becky won the fight – FAIL

Dinner Party
The Housemates took part in a dinner party and had interesting conversations based on topics provided by Big Brother. They conducted these conversations to Big Brother's satisfaction – PASS

Rave Party
The three biggest party animals were deemed to be Ashleigh, Conor and Deana. They attended Big Brother's late night rave and managed to keep dancing till the club closed – PASS

Political Party
Luke S and Scott were invited to form new political parties and take part in a debate. Luke S formed the Scratchy Party - His party believed that Big Brother is won by playing the game. Scott formed the Raving Rakes - His party believed that Big Brother is won by being yourself.

Following their debate, the rest of the Housemates unamiously voted in favour of Scott. Big Brother then asked Luke S and Scott to predict which of them would have won the debate and they correctly predicted Scott – PASS

Office Party
Adam, Sara and Scott were chosen as office bosses, with Luke A, Deana and Becky being as their PA's. Big Brother set Sara a secret mission to win at least two of the three office games at the office party in order to win this part of the task.

The office games and resuts were as follows:

Office Chair Race – Sara won
Name That Noise – Adam won (following a tie break with Scott)
Whiteboard Picture Guess – Sara won

Sara therefore won the Office Games and in doing so successfully passed her secret mission – PASS

New Year's Eve Party

Housemates had to attend the New Year’s Eve party whenever they heard the countdown sound, assembling to sing Auld Lang Syne before Big Ben struck midnight. The Housemates successfully attended four New Year’s Eve parties across both days – PASS

As the housemates only incurred one fail, they have passed the task and won a luxury budget this week. Yay.

Day 52: Not angry, just disappointed

When Caroline sabotaged this week's shopping list and spent all the money on sweeties, the smokers' reaction was bound to be the most volatile of the lot as there were no tobacco products in the delivery. In the event, Luke A and Adam took it as you might expect considering their raging nicotine addiction had been pushed to its absolute limit.

Perhaps, for a more rational review of how housemates took the news that they had no cigarettes, no decent grub and only confectionary on the menu for the week, we need to look to those who don't have so much history with Caroline to see how it all went down. Scott and Sara might be the best port of call. Neither of them smoke, after all.

While Luke S, Conor and Ashleigh saw the funny side, Becky seemed genuinely baffled as to how to react. Caroline laughed throughout, but the atmosphere was so uneasy, nobody who was reasonably neutral seemed sure how to respond.

Scott, Caroline's some-time best pal, was the first to take issue with her on level ground. He spoke at a reasonable volume but was clearly annoyed when he told her "you know 100% that you're going tomorrow so that's why you did it. So that makes you selfish". He rolled his eyes as he went on: "what a great legacy you leave".

The Outsiders went outside and the Insiders took up their position in the Living Area. Meanwhile, Sara and Scott took up position in the bedroom. Both were seeing it from the same perspective.

"Why is she pretending to find it amusing when she obviously doesn't?" Scott asked of Caroline. Sara didn't know. She wore the world-weary look of someone who's spent long enough in the House to know this kind of caper's par for the course and that sometimes the best possible reaction is no reaction at all.

No anger. Just disappointment.

Day 52: Shopping list sabotage Ch5

Imagine if one of the outsiders pulled that lame stunt
Caroline's desperation to save herself and contempt for Adam and Luke A is getting her into more and more trouble, not at home obviously, her parents are probable laughing into their cocktail glass, but with the viewers who already see her for the vile creature she is.
