Key quotes from tonight’s show
1. Sallie has a change of heart about Gina and comes to the diary room to talk with Big Brother.
Sallie “Gina has grown on me as a person, she’s not someone I’d hang out with, I don’t like her but she doesn’t annoy me, she’s alright to have around, if you know what I mean?”
2. Dan and Sam are sat at the breakfast bar talking about Dan’s hearing disability and tells him that he wouldn’t have realised he had any issues
Sam “I’ve got 80% in the left and 70% in the right. There’s no need to tell them, when we’re talking over a distance, like bed to bed, it’s hard (to understand). Dan Well maybe when you are talking to people, like bed to bed, you should just tell then or next time we’re sitting in a group why don’t you just explain to everybody, it’s up to you, or if you don’t want to draw attention to it…
3. Michael has received questions from Big Brother via tweets from viewers. He asks Dan who he would evict, ‘If he had to choose someone,’ but Dan is highly suspicious and skirts around the question.
Dan “I’m getting the feeling this could be a task and you have to get someone to talk about it. Do you need to talk; do you want to sit in the tree house for 10 minutes? I’m glad you feel you can talk to me.” Michael (In the tree house) “I feel like I’m going mad, it’s just so difficult cos no-one bloody trusts me, it’s all about moles, lies but you’re absolutely right (not to want to discuss it). Dan “You’ve been in the diary room a lot and that’s the game this year it’s called Secrets & Lies.”
4. Jackie, Sam and Dan are in the kitchen. Big Brother calls Michael to the diary room and he passes them on his way up. A short while later Michael appears on the plasma screen and the housemates gather on the sofa. Big Brother instructs housemates to keep this information from Michael.
Dan “He’s been up there a lot, what do you think is going on. (Watching Michael on screen) “This all looks staged, it doesn’t seem real to me.” Michael (In the diary room discussing possible housemates to nominate) “I just don’t trust Sallie, all Dexter cares about is money, I love the twins but the keep going on about food rations, basic stuff, but I do love them.” Jack “Is he having a laugh, I’m 18 stone!?” Michael (In diary room) “Sophie, I love Sophie, but she keep asking if her voice is annoying, is her voice annoying?” Dan “This is acting! It’s too staged, there’s no doubt in my mind that this is an act.”
5. Some of the housemates are in the bedroom. Michael is quizzing and Jemima about the type of men she dates. She says her next relationship would need to be the settling down type.
Jemima “I go for darker looking, not black, but darker feature, Mediterranean. I wouldn’t generally go for a black guy. I like darker guys, but not black guys. Wouldn’t really go for Chinese. I like mixed race.” Gina “What’s wrong with black men?” Jemima “I wouldn’t generally go for a black guy…, I’ve gone out with Indian guys, I’d generally go out with someone in there 30s.”
6. Gina asks Jemima for a chat in the bedroom. While waiting for Jemima to arrive, Gina relays the earlier conversation about Jemima’s ‘type.’ She tells the housemates that she may have “just experienced racism.” Jemima enters the bedroom and the other housemates make a hasty exit.
Gina “I felt offended by what you said earlier, just the way you said I don’t like black men, it’s the way you said it, I didn’t like it and I felt a certain way and I felt very very offended and I can’t help the way I feel.” Jemima “I didn’t say I didn’t like black me, I’ve got loads of black friends. I wouldn’t go for a Chinese guy, generally that’s my taste, you probably wouldn’t go for a white guy. Gina “Why would you say that, how would you know that I haven’t been out with a white guy; just because I’m black why would you assume?” Jemima “You’re turning it into a racial thing, that’s why you’ve got an issue with it. You’re paranoid; you had a fight on the first night Gina “That didn’t include you, that’s none of your business, Jemima “I think you’re the most shallow and selfish person I’ve ever met. Gina “I think you’re very jealous and insecure. I always see you staring at me, giving me very funny looks and I do not appreciate.” Jemima “I don’t care how you’ve interpreted it, that’s not how it is, you are the most selfish, shallow, so not disrespect me.” Gina “Do not speak to me, we’ve ended here!”
The argument continues and spills out into the garden as Gina heads out for a cigarette.
1. Big Brother calls Jemima to the diary room and issues her a formal warning.
1. All of the housemates are dining at the table. Jackie gets confused and broaches the subject of nominations to Michael.
Jackie So they nominate tomorrow, three people, I thought you were the only person that was nominating or something?” (Some of the housemates giggle and look around awkwardly) Dexter “Anyone wanna give me a hand with the plates.” Joe “Yeah, yeah I really do, I wanna get busy.” Michael “Ah, it all makes a lot more sense now, I’m just going to go and have a little chat with them (Big Brother) cos I’m confused.” Sallie “Are you alright.” (Tells housemates) “I’m really upset for him, he really didn’t know.” Michael (In the diary room) “Big Brother what are you doing to me, the confusion in this house is mental, they don’t even trust themselves, it’s brilliant, absolutely brilliant! Jackie let it out of the bag, poor Jackie, her face was priceless. It’s gonna help me, there were people getting suspicious but not it’s gonna throw them off track. Madness, it’s what we want right, a load of hungry mad people, running around the house, looking for food and a mole (laughs).”
