TASK - THE POWER OF MONEY‏

Housemates are given the chance to add an extra £25,000 to the total prize fund.

HOW IT WORKS

In this task, Housemates are told that over the next two days they will be given the chance to win a further £25,000 which will be added onto the £100,000 prize fund.

Day 1
Hit 1: Additional Nomination

In this hit, one Housemate will join the other Housemates who have currently been nominated to face the public vote. A Perspex box will be placed in the House with 3 gold envelopes inside it. This number will reflect the number of Housemates who are not currently up to face the public vote - Ash, Ashleigh and Chris. Each envelope will contain a monetary value; one containing £1000, one containing £5000, one containing £10,000. Ash, Ashleigh and Chris will each draw an envelope. Once everyone has drawn an envelope, the Housemates who already face the public vote must choose one of these three Housemates to join them in nomination. Whichever Housemate they choose will also face the public vote. The monetary value inside each envelope is then allocated to the Housemate that drew it.. Whatever the monetary value of the Housemate who has been chosen to face the public vote will be added to the prize fund.

E.g. If they choose Ash to face the public vote, and Ash’s envelope says £5000, then £5000 will be added to the prize fund.

Hit 2: Helen’s Salon

Winston and Ash are given the chance to earn some money for the prize fund. In the Garden a salon chair will have been set up. Winston and Ash can elect to add to the prize fund if they allow Helen to give them Helen’s Special Haircut, the same haircut Helen has given to Christopher and Mark in the past. Winston and Ash will be provided with visual reminders of exactly what Helen’s Special Haircut consists of. If they choose to have the haircut, they will add the money to the prize fund.

Hit 3: Family Temptation

Big Brother is willing to give the Housemates an amount of money to add to the winner’s prize fund. The three Housemates who did not receive their letters from home (Mark, Chris, Christopher) will be given the opportunity to spend time with one of their family members. One by one, each Housemate will be called to the Diary Room. Whilst here, they will be able to see on the screen that one of their family members is downstairs in the Family room. They are told that they can go down and spend some time with their family member. However, as soon as each Housemate enters the Family Room, the money available will start counting down, e.g. for every second spent with their family member, £20 will be taken off the total that will be added to the totaliser. Once in the Small Task Room, there will be no clock/money count down so that the Housemate in there will not know how long they have been or how much money they have spent. One Housemate can spend the whole time in the Family Room, using all the money. Alternatively, they can try and split the time between all three Housemates so they all get equal time with their family member. Or, alternatively, they can all choose to spend no time with their family member, resulting in the full amount being added to the totaliser.

Poor Helen, all the other housemates are worried they will lose part of the winnings, Helen is resigned to not being in with a chance, all the more reason why I hope she does win!

NOMS TWIST! One housemate sells their safety
Following on from last night's face-to-face noms, the first part of this week's Power of Money task brings a very difficult decision for the nominated housemates. They must pick either Ash, Ashleigh or Chris to join them in facing the public vote, in exchange for a randomly-selected amount of money to be added to the prize fund. Watch to see who they picked, and how much they've gained for the kitty.

Task - The Power Of Money

This week's shopping task is all about money. Okay, so the shopping task is always about money, since housemates have to fight to win enough dosh to buy their weekly groceries, but this week, the stakes are higher. Approximately £25,000 higher.

Over the next couple of days, housemates will be given the opportunity to add up to £25,000 to the prize fund. In order to win that money, though, they'll have to sacrifice certain things - like their safe positions in the House, contact with their families, or even their haircuts.

How much will housemates be prepared to swap for the promise of extra lolly? We'll let you know.

The housemates' reaction to today's task
As the housemates begin to make plans for their potential extra prize fund, Ashleigh and Chris find themselves at odds with the rest of the House over today's task. channel5

OVERVIEW
Housemates are given the chance to add an extra £25,000 to the total prize fund.

HOW IT WORKS
In this task, Housemates are told that over the next 2 days they will be given the chance to win a further £25,000 which will be added onto the £100,000 prize fund.

Day 1
Hit 1: Additional Nomination
In this hit Ashleigh, Ash and Chris all chose a gold envelope containing a monetary value.
Winston, Mark, Pav and Christopher then chose Chris to join them in facing the public vote this week.
Chris revealed the value inside his envelope to be £10,000, therefore meaning that Housemates total on the cash totaliser increased to £10,000.

Hit 2: Helen’s Salon
In this hit, Winston and Ash were given the chance to earn a further £2000 for the prize fund by having one of Helen’s Signature Haircuts. They both refused meaning that the total remained at £10,000.

Hit 3: Family Temptation
In this hit Big Brother added £6000 to the total fund. Chris, Christopher and Mark were all given the chance to spend some time with their family and friends in the Family Room. They all maxed out the time available to them in the Family Room, meaning that the £6000 had diminished down to £0. Therefore the total remained at £10,000.

Hit 4: Money Cocktail
Over the course of 6 minutes, Housemates managed to consume enough stinky cocktail to earn a further £500.

Therefore, at the end of day one, the cash totaliser stands at £10,500.

Hit 3: Final Dilemna

A poll is placed online for the public to vote for ‘which Housemate is the best judge of character’.

Once the poll results are in, each Housemate will then be called to the Diary Room and told that the public have voted them to face a dilemna. The dilemma is: do you want to take the extra money the House has accumulated for themselves or leave the extra money accumulated for the prize fund.

This is actually NOT true.

In fact, the last Housemate called to the Diary Room will be the Housemate that the public voted the best judge of character.

This Housemate will be then told that each of the Housemates have been posed the dilemma above. In order to secure the full £25,000 for the prize fund that Housemate must correctly guess which of their housemates decided to take the money.

If this Housemate is accurate in their predictions, then the prize fund will increase to £125,000. If they are incorrect the prize fund will remain at £100,000 and the money they’ve accumulated over the past two days will be lost.

TASK RESOLVE - POWER OF MONEY‏


Day 2
Hit 1: Mark’s Money –
In this hit, Mark put his psychic abilities to the test to try and win £1500.
Mark predicted that Steve the Meerkat would run to the pink food bowl first, however Steve actually ran to the blue food bowl.
Therefore, the cash total remained at £10,500.

Hit 2: Vault – Circa 3pm
In this hit, Housemates had to decipher the correct code by guessing which Housemate had said various quotes. Housemates answered:


1. Pav

2. Christopher

3. Winston

4. Ash

5. Chris

6. Ashleigh

7. Helen

All answers were correct, therefore Housemates cracked the code and unlocked the vault adding a further £5000 to the prize fund.
Therefore, the cash total was raised to £15,500.

Hit 3: Final Dilemna

Ashleigh was voted the Housemate with the best judge of character.

Each Housemate individually came to the diary room and chose whether they wanted to share or steal the money. Chris, Ash and Mark all chose to keep the money.

Ashleigh was then told that 3 amount of Housemates had chosen to steal the money to themselves. If she correctly guess which Housemates chose to steal the money then she would have won the whole £25,000 for the prize fund. Ashleigh incorrectly guessed that Pave, Chris and Ash stole the money.

As Ashleigh failed in guessing which Housemates had chosen to steal the money, meaning that all the extra prize fund was lost.
