scotslass the basis criteria of selection is still image - what if image had been all important years ago some of the greatest musical talent would not have emerged and as for the last fa lot they are in a decline now would bet that david and sinead dont have another major no 1 and in a year will be a memory

I have a super talented nephew who people in the industry acknowledge is talented he went to performing arts in Liverpool and there Paul McCartney told him go to usa there not looking for talent here and hes in in LA so supposed Im biased

philip is doing well and has had some success particularly with his song writing

was just making the point its far too image run now and these programmes are killing our industry usa wont touch these artists and is an insult when they go to a concert and lip sync not just these programme artists either danni minogue even lip synced out of time last week but her succes is purely driven by her looks

David always sings live (when allowed to!) as does Sinead and Malachi. I was most impressed watching Party at the Park when Girls Aloud sand live! I've seen *hides head in shame* The Pop Idol tour and only a couple of them really couldn't sing very well live.... I've also seen The Fame Academy tour which was fantastic! *Yes I have no life* ::lol:: I've seen Darius live (thanks to JB from here, cheers mate) and from what I could hear (loads of screaming girlies  ) he was very good live.

It was Ainslie that couldn't sing, what a growler. I'm not surprised that he has not had much success since leaving Fame Academy One !

(Eejay ducks for cover ..... lol)

Well if someone like Paul McCartney is telling people not to go in to the British Music industry then we must be in trouble! Perhaps if Paul McCartney feels that way why doesn't he start up his own music company and get young artists on to a label he creates and take on the industry. That goes for a lot of our stars whom have made it. Paul McCartney does have a lot of clout and if people like him, those that are in the Stones, David Bowie came together to fight these people whom create popstars for a year or less and then drop them they would win. These guys would combine a lot of power. I know Paul McCartney has done a lot of good work his school, but if there is no industry looking for the talents created in his school then it is a waste.

Yes he does do a lot of good work and at least he is trying but I supposed if is hard for one person alone to try and make changes, its a shame that other stars don't do as much. I wish all the luck in the world to your nephew! ()^

Cool!! Maybe you were just behind us!! were you behind 4 teenage girls who were basically going mental (especially when Ains came on!!)?

I can remember what seat we were in tho! I felt a bit sorry for the people up in the stands cos they can't have been able to see too well
