We have a family living down the road to us.

They have a double fronted council house with at least 6 rooms and were getting benfits

They have 2 jeeps on the drive [shoguns] worth about £40.00 each plus other cars.

At one point the children were claiming school dinners etc. but they all had mobiles and were wearing reebock clothing and kicker shoes.

It took ages for the complaint to go through.

Takes the pee doesn't it - My husband has been setting up a charity for young offenders for the past year and not drawing a salary. Hes not entitled to any benefit because I work, but to be honest we would be better off on benefits at the moment. YOu can see why people don't bother its all on a plate and you only have to leave your house once a fortnight to sign on :8o:

Yep....it's a funny old world...a friend of mine was offered a full time job, but didn't take it because she would have only been £10 better off and would never get to see her kids.......and find someone to look after them...can't really do that on a tenner a week can you?
She wasn't happy about being on benefits but that's how it goes.

Did anyone watch the programme on BB2 with Micheal Portillo. Where he was single mum for a week!

I know the kids were loud etc but I have to say that when compairing this single mum with the wife swap couple with eight kids, one had to admire the fact she was bringing 4 kids up alone and managed to do two jobs. She was not swallowing herself in benefits and you could tell she tried to do the best she could with the little money she had.
