Sorry this is a bit late - I don't manage to get through the hundreds of messages posted here when I call by, so this slipped past me.
Michael woke in the middle of the night and started to kick, angrily, at the walls of the bedroom. Daryl was in the top bunk, but woke up with the noise. Caron was in the adjoining bedroom and was also woken up.
Michael stomped off to the toilet - and that's where coverage was cut. The next thing we knew was that Michael was being evicted, after consulting with the shrink (Dr Gareth Smith) of the show, who had decided Michael was not in a fit state to carry on. He was allowed the keep the £13,546 he had won in the game and was upset that he had cracked under the pressure.
Daryl was convinced Michael had been punching the wall. A later interview with Caron had her admitting she was frightened. The walls of the room had become dislodged during the incident, but appeared to have been put back in place when live TV resumed. Coverage was held back until the late night show as it was not deemed suitable for daytime TV.
That left just two people in the pod until later that day, when Elizabeth won through the game to join the others.
Michael had upset other contestants, especially Kathryn, who he felt was an enemy rather than a friend, although they did have their good moments as well.
