Why do the teens corner the market? People not growing up these days?

Got a number of books on Islam in my 'to read' file....once I've read them will let you know. I'm guessing you are after a descriptive read, with no/ little 'author' opinions on the subject matter?? Please, correct me if I am wrong. ()^

Would be very interested in hearing your thoughts on this.

Spent some time with a journalist based in Israel last night. Sept 11 and other events were discussed, and feel would like to expand my knowledge to draw my own conclusions from past/ recent/ future events.

The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time by Mark Haddon.

This is last year's Whitbread Book of the Year, and is now out in paperback, and in ALL the shops.

The story is told by Christopher, a 15-year-old boy with Asperger's syndrome - an autism spectrum disorder.

Christopher is brilliant at maths and factual learning, but lacks the social skills that most people learn effortlessly. He doesn't understand people - the way they speak baffles him and he can't read their facial expressions. When a neighbour's dog is murdered, he decides to play detective to find the murderer, but in the process uncovers some painful family secrets.

The book is both funny and sad in places, but its main interest is the insight it gives into the mind of a boy who sees the world differently from the rest of us. A good read :D
