The fourth Big Brother series is well-shrouded in secrecy. Is it a pregnant housemate, a baby, a monkey? The rumours are all over the place.

But the latest is that Hollywood brat and hotel heiress Paris Hilton could be a Big Brother intruder. Hilton will be in the country for about two weeks and the Big Brother series is all set to premiere on May 2. So, it is quite likely that the socialite will play the BB intruder, reports The Herald Sun.

Last year's glamorous intruder, UK housemate Anouska Golebiewski, didn't exactly set the world on fire, but Hilton is expected to do so.

The latest rumour to make the rounds is that there will be two Big Brother houses, but unlike last season they will be in two totally different locations. The main house will be located in it's usual spot at Dreamworld on the Gold Coast, while the other is rumoured to have been constructed in Gosford, NSW.

The rumour follows that housemates will start off in the Dreamworld house and be transported to the secondary house later in the season

I just got back from leaving Dreamword where they have finished painting a BB Helicopter pad in the carpark next to the Gate 2 entrance to the Eviction Stage. This part of the carpark, which is usually reserved for buses, is fenced off.

The pad is about 4 or 5 metres in radius, has "Big Brother" written at the bottom, facing east, and the eye above it, both in black. In the eyeball, there is a pixel man (I think he's wearing a hard hat!).

Anyway, it was JUST finished as I was walking past, on my way to the train station. A group of BB staff were admiring it, and one of them came over to me and said "you like this?...well this is just the beginning". He also told me that the house is specifically mederterranian themed, to bring a sense of warmth during the winter months...it's very exotic". (or something to that effect).

The house, situated at Dreamworld on the Gold Coast, has been revamped for the fourth series of the reality show and has had an impressive makeover.

One living room has been decorated in red and black tones and features a funky red couch and some stylish accessories.

The housemates will also be able to relax on bean bags this year which decorate a room that leads off to the outdoor area.

The island-style setting outside features plenty of plants and cushions and a Big Brother favourite – a pool.

New Big Brother executive producer Kris Noble told The Courier-Mail that this year there would be one house, which would look very different to the abode of the 2003 series.

"There's lots of improvements, there's lots of really good, practical improvements," he said.

The housemates, who reportedly number 14 this year, up from 12 in previous years, have been in lockdown for the past few days, and have only been allowed two escorted outings since Thursday.

The secret is out - the 2004 winner of reality TV hit Big Brother will take home $1 million.

That is instead of the $250,000 the previous three winners have earned.

The 14 new housemates were unveiled on Sunday night and face up to 85 days in complete isolation from the rest of the world.

"The housemates don't know and with that much money at stake we are really interested to see how that affects the way people vote," host Gretel Killeen said.

"It will be very interesting if at any time the housemates find out and to see if it will drastically affect their behaviour in the house.

"But at the moment it is completely secret and we have no immediate plans to tell the housemates."

This year's troupe includes a retired AFL player, a former cheerleader and model, a furniture storeman, a nurse and a self-employed tiler.
