sounds like you be an expert there Egor,,,, i spent 2 years programming a BBC apple mac thing to play golden brown in colledge and waisted hours trying to get my zx spectrum to play space invaders,,, DOS is the one i hate the most thou, pre the vertual paper clip it was the ,most anoying thing in the world......why oh why didnt we sway with the Macs.....
It would have either been a mac or a bbc micro you used, I think the bbc micros were made by acorn, they were the gaming machines of the middle-class, originally designed for education and therefore appealing to middle-class parents, with the release of Elite, a game made by two thatcherites, one who is now a hippy techno music freak, the other who is a ****, a game that changed games forever. The bbc micro had two versions, a and b, if I recall correctly, I had one at one point, then the middle-class people we were borowing it off wanted it back (I'm not actually bitter).
DOS isn't THAT bad, I guess we didn't sway with macs because of some of microsoft's capitalisation techniques, not that Jobs and co aren't just as bad, in fact, they're worse at it. Its a shame, I truly believe the Mac OSes have been the best for their respective times, heck, OS9 beat win98 at everything except stupid memory managment even though it was based on an older technology.
Oh, and DOS is a shell, I believe. What didn't you like about it?
p.s. correct me if I'm wrong with any of this, someone.
Wow, off-topic of me
