I've (hopefully) not left the fish trade for ever. It is a fascinating industry and can be lots of fun. The people make the industry what it is, that's for sure.

I was mainly involved in procurement and logistics, as well as trading so it was pretty varied.

What do you do?

I work in a retail outlet in Finlands biggest company that processes fish and fish products for wholesail and retail customers. So basically i work in a supermarket and i'm in charge of accountability, purchase and staff. I've been working there after craduation, little over six years now.

I read somewhere that you used to travel a lot due to your work. Ever visited Finland or other Nordic countries? :D

I've not been to Finland yet. I went to school in Norway when I was about 13 or 14, and I would love to go back. Have you ever been to Scotland or at least the UK?

I have never been to Scotland. But i've been in London and in Leeds. The Leeds-trip was a three week long work practise for my school and i worked in a hotel with an elderly Scottish lady. She was really wonderful but it was only my last days there that we started to understand each other ( she speeking the scottish dialect and me speaking my finnish one). ;)

Do you still speak norwegian?

Was tempted to write a wee reply in Norwegian but am afraid I've forgotten most of what I knew, sadly.

Would you like to work in Clapham South? It's very rewarding. Honest.

I'm not fooled by any of this, you know. Surely it was no accident that more than one of the tasks for the housemates in the latest U.K. Big Brother involved fish guts...that Cameron is a smart business-man, he'll have got some lucrative contract supplying left-overs to BB.

Wouldn't surprise me if in the next BB, housemates had to live on basic rations - not chickpeas and rice, but fish fingers!

I noticed this too!

Cameron = Fish Gut Dealer.

He probably hangs out outside schools and gives out fish gut shots for £1 to young 'uns. Shame on you! :naughty:

He's also supplying Stu with some. Poor Stu developed quite a taste for the stuff!

In what way do the people make the fishing industry interesting Cameron, is it the different characters that you meet?

I had to learn how to gut a fish at school as part of my home economics Standard Grade so it came in useful when I had to do it again as part of my job at the fish processing company. That wasn't my job but they liked to show people the ins and outs of the company or in this case it was definitely the ins! :puke: ::lol::
