Right, I'm going on holiday in less than 2 weeks and I'm stuck. I don't know what books I should read. I'd prefer something new as I'm already taking something I've read once (Jaws, just to freak people out on the beach). I'm not really into chick-lit and I don't mind crime-types. And I like Stephen King.

Any suggestions? It doesn't have to be an all new thing, just something decent to pass the time.

Have you read anything by Jeffery Deaver? he writes excellent crime thrillers.
I recommend 'The Vanished man' that's his lastest one, you should be able to buy it in tesco's and the like (That's where I got mine)

Also the final part of the Dark Tower series by Stephen King is out now (I think)

Hope that helps, I'll let you know if I think of anything else.

I've not looked into the Dark Tower series yet but I've heard good things. I'll look into Jeffery Deaver too. Mark Billingham writes great books, you should check him out if you haven't already.

Have you read Gerald's Game (by SK)? It will put you off handcuffs for life!

You are about to read some of egor's useless suggestions:

The Glass Bead Game - Hermann Hesse
The Bible - God (apparently)
The Torah - God knows
Mein Campf - Adolf 'I like pink' Hitler

That is all.
