Jonny and Kate have confronted Tim about his and Alex's hostility toward them.

Tim claims he doesn't have a problem with any of the housemates and feels he is running between the two groups.

But he says he finds life in the house "childish and mundane".

"Alex doesn't want to do the group thing. You can't force him to mix if he doesn't want to," he said.

"What am I supposed to do? I haven't got a problem with any of you. I'm sort of running between the two.

"If you're looking for an obvious divide there's only one way the nominations could have gone. You say you don't want a divide but all three of you nominated Alex."

Kate asked him if he had watched Big Brother last year and realised they may have to do silly tasks.

Tim admitted he was abroad when the last series was on and said he hadn't considered what life in the house would be like.

He said: "It's different people's cup of tea. They've got three people in here who are fun-loving and entertaining. I don't do that sort of thing. It's just not what I enjoy.

"I don't have a good crack in here. It's mundane and childish."

Kate added she doesn't normally skate round, do puppet shows and make T-shirts but she's doing it because she's been given the chance to be in the Big Brother house.

"I think its really funny," she told Tim. "It's a shame you can't enjoy it."
