Another disappointing result, this time at home. I'd barely stepped into the ground and we were 1-nil down. Wilkinson equalised with a low shot from about 18 yards out just before half-time but poor defending on our part let them have the winner. A draw would have been a fair result. Credit to the Cambridgeshire side they defended well and scored both goals on the break and from poor defending on our part - but their keeper was shocking - virtually every kick of his landed in the stand :-?

::lol:: I wouldn't exactly say i was ladylike as i wipe my mouth with the back of my hand with the best of them but I would just never drink a pint ...don't know why...even at home I would have a normal glass ()^

I don't believe it! 2-nil up again, away, and we come home losing 3-2!! :8o:
Three defeats on the trot now. Not looking good. I can't see it getting any better to be honest as we have nothing in depth to deal with injuries and suspensions as the season goes on. Another game we should've won - and , as Anne Robinson would say, we "go home, with nothing."
:-?

Crucial game this one following three defeats on the trot for the Tigers. Hemel are currently propping up the Doc Martens Premier Division having won just one game and lost the remaining five.

C'mon Yellows!

What a glorious sunshiny day, it was like the middle of summer down here. Shame about the result.

I think City were unlucky to lose yet again - a draw would have been a fair result. Two penalties awarded against us (their first was dubious to say) the second I couldn't see. Chloe's fave, Lee Smith was fantastic again with two excellent goals the first about 10 mins before the break with a looping header which went across the face of goal. Hempstead resorted to dirty Stevenage-style tactics (must be something in the Herts water) and their keeper deservedly got a yellow for blatantly wasting time. Pansies who kept falling over blades of grass.

Three areas I would like to see improvements in: improved communication between players, there was hardly any today; if our team is so small why play the ball in the air as we did in the last 30 minutes?; and lastly, I hate singling out players for criticism, but there were certain players who just weren't committed and shouldn't have been played IMHO when there were better players sat on the bench who could have filled the same position (even though they looked like they were playing out of position. In one case. we may not see his appearance again, thankfully. Lee Davis should have started, not come on as a sub.
Good to see an away team bring more than 5 supporters too (I counted six I think ::lol:: )
At least Cirencester Town got hammered 5-0, Forest Green lost (6 out of 6 for the Cotswolds side now ::lol:: ) and Ch*%$@nham didn't win.

Better performance tonight against one of the Southern League high fliers, leading with our young lad Coxy (who else?) only for us to concede yet another penalty. Team spirit on the up.

17th in the league, woo-hoo!! {@}

Not a bad result, a point away from home. Stamford have had mixed results this season. City have now not won a match in six. Rumours are circulating that manager Chris Burns will move to the vacant spot at nearby Forest Green Rovers.

Elsewhere, league leaders Chippenham Town lost at Bedford, Cirencester lost at Chesham. Halesowen, Merthyr, and Rugby occupy the next 3 places all having won on Saturday. City still in 17th spot :-?
Forest Green lost (again), six on the trot for them now, and Ch*%$enham scraped a point against Yeovil.
The League takes a break for a while as our next game is away at Screwfix Direct Western League Division 1 side Street in the FA Cup First Qualifying Round. It's a long way to Cardiff.

yeah, tell me about it. Round here everyone's into egg-chasing (rugby) and cricket :-? . who'd follow a tiny non-league football side, eh? but give me my home town club with dedicated local players, over overpaid prima donnas in a league where fans are seen as the smelly stuff on the bottom of your shoe when you've stepped in something dodgy. this is the level where you eat, sleep, breathe and dream football, not watch it with some red button in your right hand and paying a fortune for the 'privilege'.

I love non league football, as you say it's the grass roots, the problem is, my local team will be playing league football in 3 seasons time(well thats the big plan)
