The best novel ever written, in my opinion, is James Hogg's Confessions' It was written over 100 years ago but was well ahead of its time. Who agrees/disagrees????

Honestly though, if you want to open your mind read this book.

Okay, I'd like some advice on this one please, cos it looks well interesting.

I've read quite a bit of 'Crime and Punishment', but got so fed up with it, apart from anything I find it hard remembering who is who and its quite slow, altho I have a craving to try it again.

Now, my question is thus, as someone who did not get on well with Crime and Punishment, is this book also slow? I dunno why I think it might be, I decided to top reading those reviews after the first one seemed to give ALOT away.

I'd love to give it a go, but I hate disappointment

it's really good, quite short, but for a book written 100 years ago exploring mental illness... it's way ahead of it's time. you should give it a crack, it's not a very long book but it's old so it's written funny.
