Soggy Celebs
Life on the farm is certainly not turning out to be the genteel experience in English husbandry the celebs may have expected. As they struggled out of bed just after dawn, the rain was coming down like a Bangladesh monsoon.
Rebecca and Debbie were the first to work, the latter accessorising her overalls with a fetching bright red bullfighter's hat. Whether or not Ryan thought her clobber slightly strange, we'll never know. The no-nonsense farmer was straight down to business with the morning's chores - preparing animal feed, clearing out the pig sheds, helping Terry to milk Rita, and checking on the new calves.
If the atmosphere was miserable outside, it wasn't much better inside, as Debbie moaned that Stan is winding everyone up. Following last night's bust up, during which the ex-footballer called Rob lazy - again - the mood was tense. "I got really upset...Rob was really hurt," she told Ryan with a frown.
Though Ryan felt it needed saying, Debs has had enough of Stan getting on people's backs, labelling him "the school bully". "All week I haven't said anything...I couldn't care less, but someone has got to do the job," she said briskly, promising to say something to him this morning.
Ryan was uneasy about her opening a can of worms and reckoned everything had been said. "I would let Stan have a new day...just give him a hug and get on with it - there's lots to do," was his decisive conclusion. Heading out into the wet yard, shaking his head, he added well within earshot, "It's like having a bunch of bloody 6 year olds on the place."
