Give us Gazza!
ANT and Dec are desperate to sign up Gazza for the new I’m A Celebrity show.
The Geordie soccer legend is their most-wanted contestant.
And TV Biz agrees — so we are launching a campaign to get him into the Aussie jungle next month.
Presenter Ant said at the National TV Awards: “My ultimate contestant on the show would be Gazza.
“I’ve heard that he’s in the running but I don’t know if he’s signed — they don’t tell us until a few days beforehand.
“We do get some say in who is signed though.
“We can phone up the producers and say, ‘Can we have this person, can we get him?’
“We’ve been doing that with Gazza. He’d be brilliant.”
Partner Dec added: “It’d have to be either Gazza or Mr T from the A-Team. I’d like to see Mr T in the jungle.”
Madcap Gazza was last week banned by deed poll officials from changing his name to G8.
He is keen to go on the ITV1 reality show but money is a sticking point — he has already rejected £200,000 to appear.
The former England and Spurs star told The Sun: “I’d want at least £500,000. I’d be worth every penny.”
An ITV insider said: “Ant and Dec aren’t the only ones who are keen to get Gazza into the jungle — we all would.
“And he has told us he’s really keen. If we can thrash out a deal with him then he’s as good as on that plane.
“There’s no doubt he’d be very entertaining, so fingers crossed.”
Ant and Dec refused to be drawn on which women they would like to see on I’m A Celebrity.
Ant said: “I don’t think it’ll get much better than the Jordan and Peter Andre romance last year. That was great telly.”
Model Sophie Anderton, 27, and former Page Three girl Jilly Johnson, 52, are already believed to have signed up for the show.
