Sting-ing attack launched on UK music scene


Sting has accused British TV talent contests Pop Idol and X Factor of destroying the UK music scene.

The star confesses he's so bored by contemporary music, he can't name any of today's leading artists and refuses to buy any of their albums.

He complained: "I have no idea who the young British hopefuls of the music world are. I can't even remember the last CD I bought.

"I refuse to watch Pop Idol, The X Factor or any of those programmes, and I have no idea what they think they're contributing to our musical culture."

I agree with Sting about that , but times have changed from those days that Sting were young and we'll just have to face the facts of reality today, also in musical culture.

what about franz ferdinand, snow patrol, keane, the killers, etc etc?

...my 16 year old sister-in-lawis in stitches at me Ive never heard of any of the groups / singers she's into. A few years ago she nearly choked laughing when I called Blazing Squad "blazing saddles"

If you look hard enough there's always good music out there, I'm with Hippo on that one.
