Kerry McFadden has checked into London's exclusive Priory clinic suffering from depression, her publicist Max Clifford has confirmed.

The Sun claims that 24-year-old Kerry has been struggling to cope with the break-up of her marriage to ex-Westlife singer Brian.

A friend told the paper that Kerry was still in love with the singer.

"Kerry is a sensible, lovely, charming girl and it's not nice to see her so depressed," said the source.

"She has accepted that her marriage will end in divorce but is still distraught over it all."

The mother or two is said to have lost two stones since the end of her three-year marriage.

The celebrity couple, who were married in 2002, confirmed their split in October, following reports that Kerry was buying a house of her own in Warrington, Cheshire

Kerry was crowned "Queen of the Jungle" in February's series of the show "I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!"

I feel for the poor girl if her heart is broken. I wish her all the best and hope she can get home to her children for Christmas.

Where's the reality in celebrities lives at all? I wish all the best to her to strenghten enough to get home for Christmas!

After three years marriage (it's typical season to devorce, because everydaylife ::lol:: steps in a relationship at that moment), and when did they divorce? Classically it takes 2 to 4 years to get over with sadness (our garndmothers and grandfathers did know that). And during those years we'll just have to live our lives as good as it's possible. She's only 24 and mother of two children and whole life ahead!

I can imagine it must all be a very difficult time for her all round. I know I find christmas/new year a difficult time (since my marriage break up). I guess it must highlight her pain. She seemd so happy when she won I'm a celebrity. I guess it goes to show you just dont know what goes on behind closed doors.

How quickly our lives can change :-?

It's hard to find the child inside of you and try to not to be worried at all just as children can do - when you've grown up... I wish that clinic does it's work well and does not just collect money away from the celebrities! ;)

The children were always going to spend this week with Brian - and his parents - anyway. Brian's mum used to mind the two girls practically on a full-time basis, and when they left, it was heartbreaking for the grandparents to realise that they'd see less of the children.

So it was planned that they'd spend this week together, before they'd go back to the U.K. to spend Christmas with Kerry. It would be really nice if both Brian and Kerry could spend some time together with the children on Christmas morning, to see what Santa brought.

There will definitely be no Christmas reconciliation for Brian and Kerry McFadden - in fact, quite the reverse.

Doctors have told ex-Westlifer Brian to stay away from his estranged wife while she battles depression in the Priory clinic.

They fear seeing him could actually make the former Atomic Kitten and I'm A Celebrity... winner's condition worse.

Kerry checked into the clinic a week ago after the strain of their marriage break-up proved too much to bear.

Friends have told The Sun she is "very down", with the split reviving painful memories of her childhood.

She came from a broken home and went through a series of foster parents.

While she is being treated at the London clinic, Brian's parents are looking after the couple's two young daughters at their home in Dublin.

One friend told the paper: "Brian leaving has made her remember all the times she was let down as a little girl."
