As far as movie tearjerkers go, Terms of Endearment was the first time I ever cried at a film ... it was the bit where Debra Winger was lying in hospital saying goodbye to her youngest child who is just sobbing his little heart out - bless him! Steel Magnolias did it to me as well - the funeral scene - but I felt guilty because just as Sally Field made me cry, then Olympia Dukakis has a great line that made me laugh, and I felt like I shouldn't be laughing!

I'm a terrible weeper though ... cry at the slightest thing on tv these days - I've turned into a right soppy old sentimental wuss! Even cried at "Facing the Music" on BBC2 the other night, where that girl sang to her fiance at the engagement party ... ::lol::

It's even worse when hormones start overloading! Blub city!!!

I watched Ghost a few months back - first time I've watched it in ages and had forgotten how sad it was ... by the time it was finished I had a face like a tin of corned beef! ::lol::

::lol::

When I went to the cinema to see Philadelphia, I didn't have any tissues so I had to hold my purse against my runny nose. It was a lovely purse, black suede. It was trashed.
I managed to keep it in all the way through that film, and thought I was doing really well until Tom Hanks's brother was saying goodbye to him in the hospital...all the other family members said something like ''goodbye see you in the morning'' etc, but the brother just couldn't speak and started crying. I cried until the end credits. I'm welling up now just thinking about it. :oops:

Remember around the early 80's , nearly all the films in the video shop were either horrors or weepies? 'Who Will Love My Children' and 'The Last Snows of Spring' were a couple I remember, but there were loads.

I'm so sad I cried at the last episode of Eldorado!!

I usually do the ironing watching a film or something on a Sunday...it doesn't seem to bad then. Why not watch a weepie then you won't need the steamer filled or spray bottle? :D ::lol::
