Neil Ruddock has carved a reputation for himself as a real entertainer since waving goodbye to his professional football days.
Media appearances and a starring role in
ITV's I'm a Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here! programme have certainly pushed the man known as 'Razor' into the mainstream spotlight.
Fun and entertainment, then, will definitely be on the agenda when the ex-Liverpool hardman is the guest of honour at the first ever Comic Relief Charity Golf Classic in North Devon.
The Journal has teamed up with MJ Promotions to host the event at Royal North Devon Golf Club in Westward Ho! on March 9 - when Red Nose Day comes to RND.
And promoter Mark Jenkins is confident Ruddock and his team of all-stars will make it a day to remember for all players.
He said: "Razor is undoubtedly one of football's great characters and I am sure he has hilarious stories to tell - either about his Premiership and international career, or about what really went on in the Aussie jungle.
"He should be joined by Justin Edinburgh, who won the FA Cup with Tottenham in that famous 'Gazza' final in 1991, and former Liverpool striker John Aldridge - an Ireland World Cup star who also managed Tranmere to their first ever Wembley final.
"It promises to be a memorable day with some mouth-watering prizes up for grabs, so make sure you enter your team now."
