ITV

Comedian Al Murray, best known for his Pub Landlord character, has become the first contestant to be voted off Comic Relief Does Fame Academy.

Thirteen famous faces lined-up to sing on the charity show, with audiences phoning in to vote for their favourite.

Stars performing included comedian Jenny Eclair, writer and actor Adrian Edmonson, Coronation Street's Deborah Stephenson and DJ Edith Bowman.

Al's version of Stuck in the Middle, made popular by the film Reservoir Dogs, went down a storm with the studio audience but failed to pull in the votes with people watching at home.

He formerly excelled himself as a chef on the hit ITV reality show Hell's Kitchen, with Gordon Ramsay.

All proceeds from Celebrity Fame Academy will go to Comic Relief.

I really thought that Jenny should have gone, or failing that, John, but none of the three left at the end could sing anyway.

Some of the others were quite good though.
