DJ and Pop Idol judge Neil Fox is leaving radio station Capital FM after 18 years to concentrate on his ITV projects.
His drivetime show will be taken over from May by former Blue Peter presenter Richard Bacon, 29.
Bacon's stint on the children's show came to an abrupt end in 1998 when he was caught snorting cocaine.
Fox, who intends to concentrate on TV projects, said: "I have been and always will be a radio man but I've got a lot of ITV shows coming up and I've learned you just can't do it all.
"I'm chuffed for Richard, he's a great broadcaster."
Bacon will be reunited with his former Big Breakfast co-host Johnny Vaughan, who presents Capital's breakfast show.
He said: "This is a great opportunity to do one of the main shows on a massive station.
"I can't wait to get stuck in and make the show my own and of course to be reunited with Johnny Vaughan who was a bit of a mentor to me on the Big Breakfast."
