I'm reading Random Harvest by James Hilton. About a man who loses his memory in the war. The thing I love about it is that it is set (partly) in Cambridge which is where I live and I recognise so mant places that are mentioned. I believe there is a film of it too. Was a birthday present :x

True to my new years resolution I have Saturday by Ian McEwan on order, have heard lots about him but never read anything he's done.

Am on to 'Angels and Demons' now. Don't think it's as good. I'm noticing some similar plot patterns. Hope all his books aren't like that!

I don't think my mum understands that it is perfectly natural for siblings to argue though, she has always got on really well with hers.

It's really funny though comparing my reports with my brothers as they are always totally different, we don't really have anything that we're similar on (apart from having the same parents) so I know why we don't get on!

Jezi speaking as parent there is personally nothing I find more stressful than the sound of my kids squabbling. Especially if it is over something pathetic like the tv channel or whos turn it is to sit in the front. I dont blame your mum for buying books. They are usuful as missiles when it all gets too much :D

we're reading the play 'The Crucible' in english at the moment, oh and 'A Hanging' and 'Shooting an Elephant'. The first time I read 'Shooting an Elephant' last year I was sooo nearly in tears.

at home I am having to read lots of newspaper articles to try and help my close reading skills

recently I have been reading a book called 'Amy' by Mary Hooper. It's aimed at teenage girls and it's telling the story of a girl who met someone she met in a chatroom basically. I'm only half way through but I think it's slightly far fetched. I have never been in a chatroom, only forums, but unless they are majorly different then I don't think there are a great number of girls my age who'd decide they were in love with someone like a week after speaking to them on the net despite the fact they're saying all this sleazy stuff and are pretty much pressurising you into meeting them. :-?
