X FACTOR winner Steve Brookstein has made a full recovery after nasal surgery that could have threatened his career.
The sexy singer, who had the operation on Tuesday, feared the procedure would change his voice.
But the sinus op has been a big success and Steve expects to be back in the recording studio in a couple of weeks.
Steve's Scots girlfriend Eileen Hunter is surprised at his quick recovery from the surgery.
Last night she said: 'I went to pick him up from the hospital and he was already wittering on.
'He's supposed to rest his voice for a couple of weeks but after just two minutes in the car he was talking to his record company on the mobile.
'Steve has been worried about the surgery affecting his voice as there will be more space there when he is singing.
'But his speaking voice is fine so hopefully when he starts to sing everything will be better than it was before.'
The 35-year-old crooner had surgery after being plagued by bad throat and nose infections.
A bout of tonsillitis early on in the X Factor competition nearly cost him his place.
Now Steve plans to complete vocals on his first album which will be released in May.
Eileen also revealed Steve is looking forward to a drink after laying off it to prepare for surgery.
She said: 'He is looking forward to going out with his friends.'
