Casanova: BBC3 10:00pm - 11:00pm
Here's a roisterous, rambunctious treat: a terrific comic drama full of verve, energy and good laughs. And David Tennant is an absolute star in the title role, ably backed by the incomparable Peter O'Toole as Casanova's older self. The story is told by writer Russell T Davies (***** as Folk, Mine All Mine and, soon, Doctor Who) in flashback, as the ageing, infamous lover of women sees out his days as a humble librarian, humiliated by fellow "servants". But one young woman, knowing of his formidable reputation, takes time to talk to the old man. The whole production looks fabulous, and watch out for cameos from some of our top comic talent, including Little Britain's Matt Lucas as an uproariously camp gay count, and Mark Heap as a teacher who torments Casanova as a little boy.
